Afternoon Ice Cream Outing
If there was anything Alisa knew about Argo, it was that he was a loyal, trustworthy friend... and he had an incredible with chocolate ice cream. She needed someone to talk to, and he was there. With a charming smile, Alisa had managed to get Argo to come with her to an ice cream parlor in the French Quarter... one that did not have a bunch of kids running about to drive them nuts. She ordered him his favorite chocolate ice cream, and she got herself a cup of vanilla ice cream with sprinkles.

Alisa was still dressed in her work clothes, a pair of black army boots, blue, baggy cargo pants, and a black tank top with a bra underneath. She seemed to have a variation of the same outfit, so she would never get bored. It was a whole new thing to have a wardrobe of her own, and she planned on taking advantage of that! She just hoped Nick did not mind that she took an early break, but she needed someone to talk to... other than him.

"T'anks for comin' wit' me, Argo. Ah jus'... well... ah sorta needed a good friend to talk to." Alisa smiled, putting her spoon into her ice cream and then taking a bit of it. She never really had ice cream until she and Ennie lived on their own. It was a big treat for her, though she was not much of a sweet tooth. "Dis place 'as some o' de best ice cream in de quarter! T'ink you'll like it!"

"There be-th a story that doth contain such lines?" Argo asked, puzzled.

"Oui! Ah read it as a kid... Ennie sorta stole de book for me. It's called "Lil' Red Riddin' Hood". It's about dis girl who wears a red ridding hood, who goes into de wood son her own, in search o' her Gammy's house. On de way, she meets a big bad wolf... an' well, he a big bad wolf!" Alisa chuckled, explaining the story to Argo. "She tells de big bad wolf where she is goin', an' he takes a short cut to her Garmmy's house an' eats her! Den he dresses up like de Grammy, an' when lil' Red Riddin' hood shows up, she comments on how big her Grammy's eyes are, an' 'ow big her ears are... an' den when she comments about 'ow big her teeth are, the Wolf attacks! But de lumberjack comes in an' saves Lil' Red Riddin' hood! Dey den cut open de Wolf's belly an' rescue her Grammy... den fill de Wolf's tummy wit' rocks an' t'row him into de lake. An' dat's pretty much de version ah read."

"Most fascinating," Argo replied. "The width and breadth of mortal imaginations never ceases to amaze me!"

"Well... from what ah heard, de book was used as a meta-fore o' sorts. Non to talk to strangers. But in France, it was used as a way to tell young women to steer clear o' King Louis... who 'ad an appetite for young women." She blushed a bit at her own worldly knowledge of such silly things. "Basically, he was de big bad wolf.. who used his kind words an' suave manner to seduce many o' young girl. Almost 'ow Zeus once turned himself into a Bull to seduce a mortal woman."

He chuckled. "Mine grandfather wort well know for being interested in almost anything that didst draw breath," he agreed.

Not that he was very different, in some respects.

"Though he didst go about it in ways I doth find unacceptable."
