Particularly with the extra help, Vernique didn't take long to whip up some properly local fashion. Once everyone was outfitted who needed to be, she preened a bit -- that was just unavoidable. "Well, now that everyone looks acceptably fantastic: off to town to look for signs of Kang Was Here?"

"It could've been worse," Charlie said to Eli, rubbing his temples to relieve himself of the splitting headache he had. "They could've sparkled."

He turned to Vernique. "I don't know. It doesn't seem very 'Kang' to me. Of course, I could be wrong."

Iason doesn't bother with beheading, helping with blasts of heat-based cosmic energy, apparently close enough to solar to count when they're dead already, disintegrating bodies whole.

"I believe our new acquaintances may be able to tell us something of the local vampires and enemies. Perhaps we're missing some greater plan."

Ryan’s head was still hurting from where Conan had punched him but he helped decapitate a few vampires with his knife. He didn’t say anything and was just listening.

Eli listened as well, but he was not wholly convinced that the large man and the angry woman were on their side.

He stands near enough to Vernique to make the large man rethink his idea if he intends to attack her and listens while Vernique asks her questions.

Vernique nods to Ryan, and looks back to the locals. "So you can't put a name on the source of the trouble, and it's edging out some of the usual trouble... wish we had more to go on here. Who's normally responsible for the Really Big Usual Trouble around here?"

Eli listened to the news with a grim expression, not liking what he was hearing at all.

"The sheer numbers these creatures attacked us in is troubling. We must find the source of this infestation and destroy it root and stem, before the townspeople can be overwhelmed and assimilated." he says.

Eli takes in the information from the people around him, silently realizing just how little of the world Father has allowed him to know in his life. When they returned home, Eli resolved that he would learn more of the other forces at work within the world.

"A necromancer? I...I guess I did not realize that there were people in the world depraved enough to visit harm upon the dead who cannot defend themselves. If this Thulsa Doom or this Varnae are aiding Kang, they must be stopped at all costs." Eli reasons.
