The Stark Foundation event was one of the big gossip topics around the school. Who was going and who was coming up for it and that Rachel had three dates -- everything lovely happened to Rachel.

Lulu contemplated for a while, and then went and knocked on Cait's door.

Sometimes Asking For Help is Harder Than Fighting @ 07:51 pm

[info]nevermisses:

Greyson had made a quick trip to New York City for information. He had heard about how someone had become the new Kingpin.  So he started looking around to find out who it was that way so he could see if he could find out if they might know where he could find his father. The old Kingpin had used his father for work a lot so it stood to reason that the new one might know where he was.

Though it quickly became apparent that this new Kingpin did not like him looking for her identity and he had gotten pretty close when couple of her better thugs got the drop on him. Now he was very good in a fight and could have taken down anyone of them in a one on one fight but they were actually working together well.

It quickly became apparent that it was smarter to run than fight and after some work Greyson had managed to lose them and he doubled back to where he had been staying in Boston. After a couple of hours of peace they had managed to find him which seemed rather odd to him to be operating out of New York but he knew the lay of the land he much better than they did letting him lose them.

Remembering what the armor user had said to him as much as he disliked having ask for help he made his way to where the Thunderbolts were based in what was approximately a costume for him.

Standing Among Gods (Defenders) @ 08:48 pm

[info]son_of_genius:

Franklin had talked about the prospect of moving in with the Defenders with his parents.  They reacted as he thought they would, but they eventually saw his side of the issue.  He figured it was, in part, because both of his parents realized that there was nothing they could do to stop him from doing what he felt was best.

Sydney, the den mother, had been informed before Franklin arrived.  He had been given her e-mail address prior to leaving, in order to contact her about when he was going to arrive.  Of course, it wasn't guaranteed that he was moving in with them.  The visit was just to see how he vibed with the Defenders.  If they had problems with him being there, it wasn't going to happen.

That being said, Franklin doubled-checked himself before knocking on the door to the main building.

In Stitches (open thread) @ 09:34 pm

Chris smiles to herself as she checks herself out in the mirror. The dress was a little lighter than winter called for, but it was a small price to pay. She could put together a throw or jacket to coordinate with it if she had to. For the most part though, she was done. She'd managed to find the materials she'd been looking for for the gift for her date, and her own threads were done.

Not wanting to come down from her creative high just yet, she put up a message on the bulletin board in the common area that she was taking requests on accessories for the party. She tacked on a few photos of stuff she had already made, just to pad her cred a little bit.

Goddess's Day Out @ 10:19 pm

[info]godlierthanthou:

Asleif continued to travel the world, occasionally rendering aide as she saw fit to those she saw fit to render it to.  Which seemed all the more often these days.  The world news was filled with reports of the odd mudslide which missed a village or a trail which stopped moments before a collision, and smaller, human interest stories of lost pets suddenly returning home.

But today was decidedly a day for herself, or at least, a day for friends, of which she had precious few.

She appeared in the lobby of the Fantastic Four's headquarters and informed the clockwork golem at the desk that she was here to see Vincent.

Concerns. @ 10:39 pm

[info]ng_atlantis:
"Is this to be it, then?" said one of the courtiers. The advisers in this meeting had not been involved in the conspiracy to back challengers for Princess Marrina's hand, but the whole affair had driven home a point to them. "The throne of Atlantis to one day be inherited by royal grandchildren of another species, sharing only one-eighth of our blood and even less of our national identity?"

There's a pause, and then one says quietly, "No." All eyes look to him, and he explains. "We must consider, Princess Marrina no doubt has strong concerns about having her own natural children. The next generation may well be left to her sister... and to Princess Namorita's son."

"Then we must encourage them to both marry full blooded members of the nobility!" one interjects, but his colleague shakes his head.

"No, they are too much children of two worlds now. If recent events have shown us anything, it is that we must take more incremental steps. They will fight too hard against being betrothed to someone who cannot go to the surface with them. We will need to encourage that the next generation be raised more in Atlantis, so that they may wed appropriately and bring blue back into the royal line. But we must ensure that Kassia and MacKenzie's children are still one-fourth Atlantean, to the better to keep them down here, and recover the bloodline faster."

"But how can we make their children as Atlantean as themselves?"

"By encouraging them to wed each other, of course."
