Meeting the Locals
After a few hours of waiting for the effects of the mead and wine from previous night's drinking to wear off, Svalin led the others down to the village. Tryggvi had a blanket over him to hide his wings and the other horse walked next to him. A part of Svalin wished her brother were here to deal with the chieftain. A male who understood the customs would make things a lot easier, but seeing how Halbjorn was not here she was going to have to do it.

Svalin was quiet and pensive as they entered the village. Her sword and shield were ready in the event she needed to use them. Which was very likely.

They were immediately surrounded by warriors, all with drawn swords and shields at the ready. Svalin put up a hand for the Avengers to not draw weapons or move. It was a delicate situation and one she didn't need to get quickly out of hand.

"We hath come to speak to thine chieftain," she said as she sized up the warriors all around them.

	Svalin translated Charlie's words for Ulf. She shook her head. "Catapults wouldst not be effective against these ships. Iason said they art made of metal, but thou art correct. We need to sink the ships." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"They are in deep waters until their raids along the rocky coasts. The soldiers can fly for short distances, so they need not to come ashore. We tried to maneuver them into a trap, but even our most powerful weapons did little but perhaps slightly dent their ships. We sent raiders sneaking aboard, they were quickly detected, and those who escaped could find no weaknesses in their ship armor."

Svalin translated Ulf's words and her brow furled in thought as she did. Their very slim chances were almost non-existent. Still, she wasn't about to give up. As long as they were alive there was still a chance.

She stared at the crude map on the table.

The enemy ships were traveling in a V formation according to Iason. Svalin knew they didn't expect resistance or be challenged, but they weren't counting on Avengers. An advantage Svalin fully intended to use to their advantage.

Slowly an idea came to her.

"I hath an idea," she said as the idea developed further in her mind. "Two small groups wilt board this ship and this one," she said as she pointed in turn to one of the ships on each end. "We board and take control. We turn the ships and attack the others. Whilst we do that, Iason and Eli wilt start sinking them from the center out."

The Eternals didn't need to breathe and could go into the water and sink the ships by ripping holes in the hulls. The sinking ships should slow the others down, or so she hoped.

While they were doing that, two small groups would work on taking over two of the ships and then turn them on the others. Using the technology against itself was the only way they could possibly win this.

"Thoughts?" she asked and then translated for Ulf.

	"Iason and I can carry out this plan, Svalin." Eli nods. "I can get us onto the ship undetected, and we will deal with any opposition from there. We will keep in mental contact with you so that we can execute your orders further or report any changes you need be aware of." Eli tells her. "How soon do you want to start?" he asks. "We wilt go at first light. Eli wilt teleport the two groups onto the ships. Charlie thou wilt take Vernique and some warriors to take over this ship," she said as she pointed to the one on the far right. "Ulf, Ryan and some warriors wilt take over this ship," she said as she pointed to the one on the left. "As soon as thou take over the ship, turn it and fire on the others. Iason and Eli wilt start sinking ships with these two in the middle." She pointed to the two ships in the middle.

"I wilt provide a distraction with the help of Ulf's ships here," she said and pointed to a spot in front of the fleet. "We wilt draw their attention whilst all of thee do what thou must."

She translated for Ulf.

	"Aye, I wilt teach you the basics," Svalin said. She looked at all of them. "We wilt gather right before dawn. It ist time to retire to beds and rest." Svalin did not need as much rest as humans and therefore was going to patrol. Just in case. (Reply to this)(Parent)
