Marlow Gets a Makeover (open)
Downtime after the Defenders/Offenders war gave Marlow plenty of time to think about the spells she'd used and their effects. She'd knowingly overreached several times for magic she didn't think she should be able to wield and had done so easily. It was something she had to figure out before their next battle. She tried to contact Clea but those particular spells weren't working so well. Perhaps it was something she could talk to Matt about since he was the only other magic user she knew that might not get agitated when she said power surge.

Sure, there was Dawn...or was it Aslief? Who knew anymore. One was nice but untrained, the other expert and dismissive. While the others merely overlooked her, Aslief literally did not see her until there was a need for another sorceress.

Barefoot, wearing a boy's black tee shirt and faded to nearly white jeans, she made her way from the bungalow to the main house for a late breakfast. A ball of pulsing light hovered a few inches above her open palm.

	She tugged on her old tee shirt again. Not having had a mother didn't mean she couldn't recognize a good one when she saw her. Clea had been a fine guardian but she wasn't a mother and it showed in Marlow's upbringing. "I might have to look for outside help to gain full control." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"I've tried contacting Clea, but I'm not getting through." She shrugged and sipped at her coffee. "A test then, to see how I deal with it. Dawn still seems shaky here. Someone more comfortable in their own magic would be better. I want to check if Dr. Strange is available first. If not, then I'll contact Matt Walker. The magics are different, but control is universal."

Syd nodded. "Let me know if you need any help contacting them. I can speak to Mr. Stark. He has connections with the superhero community."

Syd drained the last of her coffee. "I should probably get dressed and start my day." When she mentioned getting dressed she noticed Marlow's ratty shirt. Now that she thought about it, she didn't recall Marlow going shopping for any new clothes outside of thrift stores.

"You know what? Scratch that. I am taking you shopping. It's time for you to get some new clothes."
