Spring in Moscow
Natasha walked slowly through the elaborate gardens on the palace grounds. Her nephew Mikhail had wanted her to sit in on a meeting, but the day was too lovely to not be outside. The sun was a balmy 60 degrees. Natasha smiled as she inhaled the perfumed air and soaked up the warm sunlight. Bright flowers in bloom surrounded her and added to the tranquility of the gardens.

It was much better than sitting in on a meeting.

She had used her pregnancy as an excuse and told her nephew she wanted to nap for awhile. Jet lag and pregnancy not mixing well or something along those lines.

The beautiful setting of the gardens helped to take her mind off of Ivan. The old man's health was in decline and Natasha worried about him. He was in his nineties and still had a sharp mind, but time was catching up to him. His body was beginning to fail him and Natasha and Ivan both knew he didn't have much time left.

There was a tightness in Natasha's chest at the thought of losing Ivan. He had been with her for her entire life and she couldn't imagine life without him. Ivan had been her only family for many decades. He was the only father she had ever known. He was a grandfather to her children.

She was so enmeshed in her inner thoughts she almost didn't notice the small fluttering feeling in her abdomen.

Natasha stopped walking and concentrated. She couldn't have been imagining it. There. Another one. Natasha smiled. The baby was moving and she just felt it for the first time. She just wished Tony could have been here for this. Still smiling, Natasha started walking again.

Tony's eyebrows shoot up. Of all the things he'd expected to hear, this hadn't even made the list. Of course he couldn't tell Tasha this; she'd want to find the man and end him, whether or not she was pregnant.

"I'm going to download that information my private server, but I need to know who else has it? Did you tell Logan about this?" Tony asks.

"Not yet. I arranged with Mom to come with her this trip and Dad's orders are that I do what Mom asks, when she asks, and not to worry her over anything bigger than a food craving." His voice was grim, and tired. "The team has a Ghost Rider, and he did his stare thing. Shostakov is in a coma. Irina saved him and I assume she took him somewhere else. I wouldn't be surprised if he sent her to the Champions to infiltrate it and get to know the rest. It's complicated enough for Red Room."

He downed the vodka and poured himself another. "I'll tell Dad when I get back."

"Misha, the drinking isn't helping you, despite how you think it feels." Tony says. He knows that little fact better than anyone.

"It's a rare occasion, but I agree with Logan. Tasha doesn't need to know about this right now. I'd rather she not know at all, but there's a good chance she'll find out if she sees you like this and you slip up. Do you want it happening like that?" Tony asks.

"Right now, you need a plan of attack. You know that Irina's probably compromised, and that this guy isn't dead when he should be. You also know what he's capable of, since he did it to you." Tony says.

"I'm guessing that isn't something you're willing to let slide just because he's laying in a hospital bed somewhere?" Tony asks rhetorically.

"So what's the plan, Misha?" Tony asks.

He hated it when Stark made sense about something personal, but the questions needed him to think and the vodka wouldn't help. He put the bottle and glass away and began pacing in front of the fireplace instead.

"Lyta and Corey aren't stupid, but they won't thank me if I start issuing orders to another team. They'll handle the issue in their own team." It practically killed him to say it. Corey was another little brother and Lyta... Lyta, he loved, had always loved, and he knew better than anybody who didn't grow up with her that she could take care of herself.

"I can't let it slide. Weapon X was there. Shostakov managed to team up with Weapon X to do all this. Evil on top of evil. I won't stop trying to find Shostakov, but he's in a coma. Weapon X is still running free."

"Then you'd need to find some like-minded individuals willing to help you find out more on Weapon X, and then take said people and burn them down completely." Tony says.

"And you'd have to do it under the radar so that Lyta, Corey and your mother won't know anything about it. Not to mention your father. Logan might tell Tasha out of some misguided attempt at being straight with her. While the idea has some merit, excuse me if I don't feel like putting our child at risk when your mother takes the news poorly. You know she'll want to find Shostokov and end him herself. I also don't want Anya involved in this." Tony says.

He might come across as an ass in his worries for his wife and his children, but Tony Stark has priorities of his own.

"Weapon X isn't fond of people getting away from them. You mess this up and they'll either beat you at your own game, or they'll go so far underground that you won't find them until they're about to kill you. So the team would need to be small and need to have people ready to get their hands dirty if the situation calls for it.

Next question: Who do you have in mind?" Tony asks.

"I would never put Mom or Anya at risk," Misha practically snarled at the man. "Neither would my father. I'm talking to you now so that you know there's still a threat to them.

He ran a hand through his rumpled, sweaty hair. It seemed like eons since he'd last eaten, slept, or showered. And his target was not the man in front of him so he had to pull back and think.

"Right now, there's no one I want anywhere near them," he admitted. "David isn't ready for that kind of hate and Rose..." He paused. "Rose can be vicious and decisive. But I need to find them first. By then, I'll know who."

"I suggest Justin Rhodes, to start with. In fact, the two of you might be able to pull it off on your own if you do it right." Tony says. He ignores Misha's anger since he knows the younger man is under a lot of stress. It might be different on another day, but for now, he lets it go.

"You need to go cold, Misha, if you're going to do this. I'll aid you however I can, but we need to keep this under the radar." Tony says.

Misha nodded. The calm attitude from Tony helped him regain some of his balance. Weapon X pushed all his buttons, and Red Room made him want to kill. It didn't help that all his nightmares related to one or the other.

"I'll talk to Justin when I get back to New York. See about putting together some sort of plan to start." He rubbed his hair again. "I was only going to be here with Mom so she wouldn't be alone. You know, present a solid American Romanov front and be on hand to run interference so she doesn't get stressed. Are you going to stay until she leaves?"

"Yes, Misha, I'll be here with her. I've cleared my schedule so that I can stay with her. I don't want her alone any more than you do." Tony says.

"I'll keep a lid on this until after you've handled it and the baby is born. If all goes well, she can just be pissed off at us for keeping her out of the loop. I'd...like to ask you to do the same with Logan, or get him not to tell Tasha as well. We can all agree she doesn't need the added stress." Tony says.

"In the meantime, please keep me informed and let me know if you need anything. Call me directly. Don't go through the Stark satellite. I don't want Anya picking up on this by accident." Tony says.

Relief was a good feeling after all that happened. Planning helped. Even if it was a short term, get-through-the-next-few-days plan. "I'll agree to not telling Dad just yet. I don't want to worry him either. If he complains later, I'm telling him it was your idea. If it looks like they're about to make a move on Rose or David, it's off."

Cooling down also meant he was feeling the sweat glue the undersuit to his skin. "I'll spend the night so she won't get suspicious and see the rest of the family." He also needed food and sleep before he did anything else. "Probably best that it doesn't get out I was here since I didn't exactly go through customs with a passport."

"I'll agree to your terms and I'll take the heat from both Logan if it gets out early, and your mother when it comes out later." Tony says. Tasha would be pissed about being kept in the dark, but Tony was used to making executive decisions.

"Good idea. You don't need to be trying to fly back across the ocean tonight." he says.

Misha nodded again. "Thank you. I appreciate the help. I'll shower and then go see her and Grandpa Ivan."

"I appreciate the heads up, Misha. Thank you." Tony says.

If there's nothing else, Tony will leave Misha be and get to work on his own plan to keep Tasha safe and out of harm's way.
