Saving the Kids
Irina had to concentrate on the image that Lyta had sent to her, but after a few moments she had been able to open a portal to a spot just inside the main building. Her knives had been out and ready when she stepped through. They went flying through the air heading toward the two guards that had been standing near the door. The knives hit them in the chest and they fell to the ground. Stepping through portals and into trouble was quite common for her.

"Let's go," she called back to the others.

The children huddled together while the soldier dealt with the big man in the room.

The solider Argo hit went flying across the room and into the far wall. He fell to the floor like a prom dress on prom night. The other three continued to fire on the big man.

Argo wasted no time in closing the distance between himself and the remaining soldiers, striking out quickly each time. He pulled his punches only in the slightest sense of the word. Had the children themselves not been present, he likely would have killed them. As it was, they would probably be gravely injured.

The soldiers tried, but they were no match for the Olympian. They went flying in every direction and landed with thuds on the floor. It was quite safe to say they weren't going to get up anytime soon.

The kids just stared wide-eyed at Argo.

Argo fixed his attention on the children, keeping just enough awareness about him in case any further threats arose.

"Thou art free now, children," he said. "Mine name be Argo, and mine friends and I hath come to rescue thee."

The kids stared at him but eventually one nodded.

"Do you know where Ten and Four are?" a boy asked.

"Aye, I doth," Argo assured them. "They be safe, guarded by set another friend. Neither they, nor you shalt fear those who have done you harm any longer."

The boy looked at the other kids. One by one they nodded. He turned back toward Argo. "Take us to them."
