Goodbyes:
It wasn't expected.

Ohu Amane received an unusual phone call today. And now his room is empty.

It's abrupt, but Ohu Amane has never done anything in half-measures.

He goes from room to room, seeking out the Defenders one at a time to say his goodbyes.

She tilted her head slightly as she looked up. "You're... being awfully serious," she said, after a moment. "What's going on?"

"I am being called back to my home realm," he explains. "And this time... I cannot refuse." He gives her a sad smile, but there is still mischief in his eyes. "I do not know when I will be able to return."

He laughs. "Dawn, I am Ohu Amane. I will be fine. It will be an incredible adventure, and I will be laughing the whole time."

He leans closer. "And you... you will be better than fine. You do not trust yourself in this strange new world you have been thrust into. But Dawn... you will not merely survive this world. You will thrive in it. Because if you didn't... what kind of a story would that be?"

He smiles as he leans in to hug her.

Dawn hugged Ohu in return. The librarian in her couldn't help but appreciate the storyteller in him. And she would miss his sense of humor.

"A pretty poor one," she agreed. "I'll miss you, Ohu."
