Heaven's Wherever You Are (Sat 10th)
Kalypso's own birthday had become meaningless to her as she would see way too many, but it didn't mean that others birthdays weren't important to her. Jack's birthday had come and Kal had to do something special for him. It had taken some time to come up with something, but Kal had managed.

She thought about the Blue Area of the Moon and nice picnic, but that had already been done. While it had been an extremely good time, Kal wanted something different. The idea came to her during a visit to Olympia. The city was still being rebuilt after the Deviants' attack, but the gardens managed to remain untouched. The gardens were the perfect spot for a birthday celebration and wouldn't overwhelm Jack's senses too much.

Kal had gone to a few of Jack's favorite restaurants and got some of his favorite foods. With heightened senses, Jack's taste tended to run on the not-spicy or heavily flavored foods. Kal was the opposite and loved foods that were flavored with many herbs and spices. Somehow they always managed to find places to eat that accommodated both of their likes.

Food. Check. Wine. Check. Water. Check. Blanket check. Change of clothes for both of them. Check. Kal now had quarters in Olympia and she didn't plan on the two of them coming back after their picnic. There was no rush to come back. Birthday gifts. Check. It looked like everything was ready to go. She packed the food items into the picnic basket and packed the presents and blanket into a tote. Now it was time to get the birthday boy.

Kal left via window and flew over to Jack's place.

Eyes closed, Jack smiled lazily and ran his fingertips down her shoulder and arm. "Right now is a perfect moment," he murmured.

Kal turned her head and kissed his cheek. "Yes it is," she said. "I wish it could never end."

He cupped her cheek. "Don't think about that. Think about next time we get to steal away."

"I'm already planning that. Though I'm going to run out of unusual places fairly quickly. I'm going to let you pick the next one."

"Then we'll start on the usual places. We'll take weekend vacations when you're available." He put his arms around her and held her closer in the warm water that smelled like Kalypso and faint hint of something he associated with fresh air. "We'll go to the shore, or into the mountains. We'll have a picnic on the floor in my apartment."

Kal smiled. "I'm available any time you want to go." Kal leaned into him. "All those places sound wonderful. Of course any place is wonderful as long as you're there."

He sighed with the feeling of total contentment. "I want to seriously consider the idea of moving in together. Really talk about it this time."

Kal smiled. "Is this your way of asking me to move in with you?" she asked. It was a surprise, but not totally unexpected. They had been dating close to two years and they were both adults. There were times when she had considered it, but there hadn't been a rush. Kal liked that their relationship was laid back and they took things as they came.

Jack also liked the unhurried pace of their relationship. It let him discover and savor all that was Kalypso.

"This is my way of asking that we visit the subject and discuss whether or not it's for us now. If it's not, we haven't lost anything. If it is, we don't wait and lose that time together."

"Oh. Of course we can talk about it. I'd never object to that," she said. "I wondered on occasion when the topic would come up."

He smiled. "Now you don't have to wonder. Also, if we talk and decide against it, we can tell your mother we did and we need more time."

It was only fair, he brought the subject up.

"I think I'd like to climb into bed with you every night."

"I'm glad you do." Jack tucked wet strand of hair behind her ear. "Think about it, sweetheart. It could be time if you want it to be."

"I'm all for it, my love. I'm thinking I should just move out and see how long it takes my mother to notice." She reached up to take his hand and press a kiss to his knuckles.

"I'd live in a cardboard box if it had you, so I'm no help on the subject." He grinned up at the ceiling, head back against the tub rim and feeling as if he couldn't possibly be happier. Except he could because he loved her deeply and she gave it right back to him in a dozen different ways.

"Say the word and we'll move you in whenever you want."

"We can make it our weekend project. Thankfully I don't have that much." Kal had never been one for possessions, now less so. This whole being an Eternal and going off goodness knew where in a moment's notice also contributed.

"I'll clear space as soon as we get home." There was a lot of satisfaction the 'we' and 'home'. "I promise to make you sure you don't regret it."

"We'll see how well you do on stealing the covers," he joked. He scooped a handful of water and trickled it over her shoulder. "Although I have to admit you look better in my shirts than I do."

"I like wearing your shirts. They smell like you," she said. "And I don't steal covers, thank you. Think maybe we should get out of this bath before you turn all prune-y?"

"Sweetheart, I'm encouraging you to steal the covers. Then I can find creative ways to get them back."

Getting out of the tub was probably wise. He would get all prune-y, but warm water, unscented soap and Kal were a tempting combination.

And he was ready for some sleep. His weak, human self needed to recharge in order to worship her later.

"All right," he said, pretending reluctance. "You talked me into it."
