Checking on the home team
Commander Fontaine, Deputy Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., made the rounds when the special ops team came back in. After their last disastrous outing, she wanted to make sure they were still in one cohesive piece. The reports had been favorable.

She hadn't met the newest member yet, though she knew the contents of his file. She'd been the one to have it sent to Sammy for consideration. Her little gun nut, and Walker and Dugan, could always use someone with the ability to build a better gun.

Sammy's report had been terse but informative. The others' a little more informative. Landon was next on her list.

	While Sammy appreciated a man who's first instinct was to handle his own issues before asking for help, she had little patience for one who put himself through unnecessary trouble. 	"You realize I'm rolling my eyes you, right?" Sammy asked as she tried the doorknob and found it unlocked. She opened it to find he was indeed decent and arguing with fresh bandages. 	"I can feel your eye-rolling through the door, Fury." Tech deadpans. So far, Fury was certainly on track to become the government's chief ball-buster someday. "Understood, Fury. 	"And I appreciate it." Sammy took a minute to check his bruises. "I really do, but you couldn't have that many options with this." She repositioned several bandages before completing the job. "Thank you for not calling her in, Fury. I appreciate it." Tech says quietly. That would have been worse than the slight amount of shame he felt at letting Fury see him like this.

Once she was done, he slipped the dark blue shirt over his head and turned to face her...and found himself a little closer than he expected to. Her eyes are much more blue than they look at first glance.

"Besides, she'd kill me for keeping a pretty woman waiting." he says.

"Shall we go?" he asks, though he hasn't moved yet.

Tech's eyebrows raise in shock.

"I am so sorry. I will talk to her about it in the morning. You're right, I don't bring girls home enough. You're...the second one. Ever." he says.

"She's angling for great-grandkids, so she'd probably do this with whoever I brought home, but I hope she didn't make you feel awkward. Really, I'll talk to her about this."

He sighs mentally; Gran will beat this horse to death and then some.
