Checking on the home team
Commander Fontaine, Deputy Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., made the rounds when the special ops team came back in. After their last disastrous outing, she wanted to make sure they were still in one cohesive piece. The reports had been favorable.

She hadn't met the newest member yet, though she knew the contents of his file. She'd been the one to have it sent to Sammy for consideration. Her little gun nut, and Walker and Dugan, could always use someone with the ability to build a better gun.

Sammy's report had been terse but informative. The others' a little more informative. Landon was next on her list.

	"I'm thinking that he's aware you're in S.H.I.E.L.D. now. He's either very sure of your loyalty or he's planning something to bring you back. Tech doesn't think as deeply or as far ahead as Fury, but he doesn't want her getting pulled into this, even though he knows she would back him up.

"Michael could know, if he's spoken to Jake. If he's got Feds watching him, he's not going to try anything overt; he can't afford the trouble. But he's also got people in the Feds, local cops and DEA." Tech tells her.

"But I'm done with the mob, Fury. I'm never going back to that life."

	"Best guess says it is, but something tells me that you in the area wanting to get your equipment and me requesting transport for it pushed them ahead of schedule. "Noted for future reference." Tech says, sitting back in the seat.

Jake's house is a bit smaller than Gran's, but still fairly large for just two people. The driveway has been re-graveled and there is a two-car carport in which a single car sits, a black Ford Explorer.

"Jessica's car isn't here." Tech says, waiting for Fury to stop the car. He suddenly wishes he'd had the foresight to bring a gun of his own with him, but he can remedy that inside the house.

Tech wants to protest the logic of staying in the car, mostly because he knows that Fury is trying to keep him out of whatever trouble she thinks might be in the house.

"All right, Fury. I'll be ready for whatever comes next." he says, adjusting his position so as not to tweak his ribs. His meds still have a few hours left before the pain becomes an issue, but he could always go for lying down.

"How long is too long to wait?" he asks.

She appreciated that he wanted to help, but until she knew more about what was going on inside the house, he had to be kept out. He'd already been in the house, he said so earlier.

"Give me fifteen normal minutes, and then call Alice and tell her we need back up. She'll handle the rest. You..." She sighed. "If that point comes, no matter what I say now will stop you from doing what you want to do anyway. Give me your word that you'll call Alice before you do anything else."

	Tech smiles back and waits in the car as instructed, but gets his phone out to count down the minutes. Fifteen minutes and he calls Alice, then he goes in to help Fury any way he can. (Reply to this)(Parent)
