Checking on the home team
Commander Fontaine, Deputy Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., made the rounds when the special ops team came back in. After their last disastrous outing, she wanted to make sure they were still in one cohesive piece. The reports had been favorable.

She hadn't met the newest member yet, though she knew the contents of his file. She'd been the one to have it sent to Sammy for consideration. Her little gun nut, and Walker and Dugan, could always use someone with the ability to build a better gun.

Sammy's report had been terse but informative. The others' a little more informative. Landon was next on her list.

"In my parents' house, it's Connery. Every other one was a wimp. Just ask my dad." For once, she referred to her father by something other than the Colonel.

She settled into the easy chair nearest Tech's spot on the sofa. She would have sat down next to him, but she want him to stretch out on it and actually nap at some point. The cookies were in easy reach. Milk surprised her but only because she didn't drink much of it since she discovered her one, true love.

"Mom oohs and ahhs over the Bond actors and suggests that Dad invite them to spend time with real agents, but he just glares."

	"You know, Ah agree with your dad on that one." Jason says, deciding to lie down after a few minutes, because his ribs were a bit sore. He wasn't going to let on about that to Sammy, though. Maybe a little nap would help. He ate a few more Skittles and watched the opening credits. "If someone made a movie about your life, who would you want playin' you?" he asks. "Ah don't think they'd be able to capture you just right, Sammy. You do stuff like dunkin' perfectly good food in coffee that most people could never do on screen." he laughs.

"It would have to be someone with more muscles and a stronger jaw. Probably that Austin Caine guy that people have been all ravin' about. He played a good hacker in some other movie recently, though they got just about /every/ technical thing wrong." he says.

He shifts around a little bit as he lay on the couch, trying to find a spot that didn't tweak his ribs too much. Maybe he'd overdone it.

"Intermission." Jason says, getting up to go get a pill.

	Jason shakes his head. "Ah'd like to watch a spy movie with you and let you point out where they get it right or wrong. Ah've always wanted to know what a real spy thought about that kind of stuff." he says, getting the movie from the machine. Sammy followed with the tray and set it on the bedside table. "Shirt up or off, s'up to you. As for what they get wrong, spies don't nearly get all the sex Bond does. Unless that's just how they are and then it really says more about them than the profession."

She stood with her hands on her hips in front of him, waiting for him to follow instructions. "The gadgets are far too convenient in the movies. And spies aren't all glamorous. You could pass sleeper agents on the street and never know. In fact, you probably have and you've ended up in a report somewhere."

Sammy laughed and proceeded to bandage his ribs. "You know what's funny is that Dad used to have a subscription to Guns and Ammo that came to their penthouse. I was about eleven when I decided that I needed a bikini just like the one on the model holding the newest Sig release. Or rather, what was barely on the model. I told Mom I wanted it, Mom said I was too young to think about those things, she yelled at Dad, the magazine stopped appearing at home, and Dad made sure to tell me every day for weeks afterward that I was beautiful and perfect just the way I am and just as special as Mom."

She moved in close to pass the roll from one hand to the other behind his back. "I really only wanted the bikini because I thought the Sig came with it. I was going to use the bra as an eyepatch for my Col. Fury teddy bear."

"Aw, that's cute! Your dad is right about everything he told you, though." Jason says, lifting his arms to make it easier for her to reach around him.

"Ah remember when Ah was seven, Ah brought home a science magazine with Tony Stark on the cover. Ah said Ah wanted to be like him, and my Gran and Grandpa sat me down and we talked about everything Ah would need to do to get there. We made a plan and my grandparents told me Ah could be any man Ah wanted to be...as long as Ah treated women with dignity and respect, because paparazzi came here askin' about my love life, Gran would fly out to where Ah was to tan my hide proper." Jason laughs.

"But they both always believed in me." he finishes.

"Tony Stark is a nice man for the most part. He and Dad have a running disagreemnt going on, but it's not too bad. They have Cap to run interference, and Mom does most of the contact between S.H.I.E.L.D. and Stark Inc. I know his daughter and stepkids."

She tugged the bandage firmly to be tight without being painful when he finally laid down. "That just means you'll have introduce your grandma to all the girls in your life so she can help you pick one. She's put in a lot to make you who you are, and she did a good job."

The last end was taped down. "There. Now get on that bed." She grinned up at him. "Please."

Oh the comments he could make a woman who knew what she.wanted in the bedroom. Jason just smiles and goes to lie down, starting up the movie.

"Care to join me?" he asks, indicating a spot the other side of the large bed. There is more than enough space for her if she chooses.

"Well, any girl will have to pass the Gran test. That's a given. However, Ah will also need to get approval from a few other sources as well. Like my team leader. She's good at figuring out who's full of crap and who isn't." he says.
