Checking on the home team
Commander Fontaine, Deputy Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., made the rounds when the special ops team came back in. After their last disastrous outing, she wanted to make sure they were still in one cohesive piece. The reports had been favorable.

She hadn't met the newest member yet, though she knew the contents of his file. She'd been the one to have it sent to Sammy for consideration. Her little gun nut, and Walker and Dugan, could always use someone with the ability to build a better gun.

Sammy's report had been terse but informative. The others' a little more informative. Landon was next on her list.

"Young man, keep talking to me in that tone of voice and I will make certain this young lady hides all of your tools at random intervals when you go back to work." Evelyn teases.

When Sammy gets back in the SUV, Evelyn leans over to whisper to her.

"Oh, he hates it when you mess any clocks in the area. Set it five minutes fast or slow sometime and watch what he does." she winks.

Sammy laughed. "You know, I wondered about that. My watch is always a minute or two fast, and I see him look almost pained about it." Her watch kept actual time even when she was in a temporal pause. At the end of a busy day she could be running fast five minutes or more. "I'll keep that in mind. When he's really bugging me, I'll sneak into his quarters and mess with his clock."

	Jason just nods and sits back in his seat. Play this game, would they? He had surprises in store for both of them. Sammy's was going to be a lot funnier (for him). "I think we're good, Sam. You, on the other hand, are in deep trouble." he laughs.

Gran turns to look at him wryly, but says nothing else from the front seat.

"Spine. Lower back. Left palm. Shoulder blades. Scalp and hair. Ninety seconds only prolongs the inevitable." Jason smirks, seemingly listing off random body parts. Gran didn't pick up on it, at least.

Of course, Sammy knew he'd touched each of those places on her body over the last three days and she'd reacted in varying degrees of enjoyment.

	Tech would reply to that one out loud, but then that would invite questions from Gran. He has a better idea. Taking out his cell phone, he sends Sammy a text. Any attempt to bind me might leave you tied up, Agent Fury. Then he sits back and grins. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"We're going to have this comedy routine down pat by the time we take it back on the road to New York."

The cell phone in her pocket buzzed. She took it out and glanced at the display. Her eyes flicked to Jason's in the mirror. Smiling, she put it back and continued on.

"It's been lovely around your house, Mrs. Landon. I would have thought it would be more humid but it hasn't, or I haven't noticed. The weather has been unusual in many places around the country this year."

Evelyn waits for Jason to come and open her door, knowing the boy will fuss at her if she tries to do it on her own. Soon enough, her feet are on the ground and she's being walked slowly up the porch steps to the back door.

"Okay, I did not think such a short trip and a good laugh would tire me out so much. Would you two mind if I took a little nap once we're inside?" she asks.
