Zoey would have a lot to write about when she did her "What I Did This Summer" report when school started. First there had been two new arrivals to the Defenders with Andy and Eiltin. Three if you counted Titan, who Zoey liked to call Big Green. Next came finding George and taking care of him. That lead to an adventure into space and beating Galactus.

Now it was a trip to Boston. Zoey loved taking trips and flying on airplanes, especially to places she never been before. Boston was a city she hadn't been to before and when Mom asked if she wanted to go, Zoey immediately said yes. Daddy had said he would show her around and she would get to meet her grandparents. Zoey never had grandparents before and thought it would be neat to meet them and get to know them.

The only downside was that she couldn't take George. She left him in her room and George assured her that he would be able to get his own food and take care of himself. Zoey didn't like leaving him, but she had no choice. She packed her own suitcase and backpack. She took clothes and some books to read on the plane. Her iPod and Nintendo DS were also put in her backpack.

Zoey read on the plane and also took a nap. They were in Boston in what seemed a short while. She started out the window as they were landing. The city looked pretty from the air and there was a lot of water. It was the Atlantic Ocean. Zoey had looked at the atlas before she left.

They collected their luggage and Zoey walked with her dad out of the airport. Holding his hand as was the rule when around a large number of people.

Avery picks her up and gives her a big hug, followed by a kiss on the forehead.

"Hi, yourself! Listen, We're going to go the stables, get set up with horses, and ride over to the lake. Cook is making us a picnic lunch to take out with us. Tonight, you'll get to meet your grandmother, Angela, and maybe your grandfather, Arthur. I think Adrian will be there, as well as your Aunt Aurora and your Uncle Andrew." Avery says.

"I know it's a lot of people to get used to, Zoey, but if you don't feel up to it, or uncomfortable, you tell me and we can do something else. Deal?"

	Zoey gave him a smooch on the cheek. "Okay. I want to meet them." She looked at him and tilted her head. She was a little confused about how she would not be up to it or uncomfortable meeting her family. It was nice to have more. It had only been her, Mom and Aunt Bryn for a long time. "Okay. Avery blinks for a moment.

She called me Daddy.

Then he smiles.

"I love you, Small Lady. In case you didn't know." he grins.

"We've still got a bit before the food is ready, so we'll take a tour of the house. Just so you know...this used to be your Aunt Audra's room." he says.

He'll lead her along the hallways, pointing at the rooms he and his siblings had, and the game room, with actual arcade games, and pinball machines.

"Your grandfather loves pinball. He's actually trying to get it made into a sport. I think that was half the reason he wanted me to become a lawyer." Avery jokes.

He'll show her the library, and the pool in the back. The kitchen is huge and Claudette the Cook smiles at Zoey, and tosses a few lollipops into the picnic basket. Avery smiles at Claudette and takes her into his father's study.

"It's probably not a good idea to come in here unless your grandfather asks you to." he says. "He's very serious about his work."

"Hey, let's go ahead and go to the stables. They'll bring the food out to us." Avery suggests, then takes Zoey's hand and leads her outside.

Out at the stables, a young man named Peter greets them. He looks to be around Grace's age, and is dressed in jeans and a gray t-shirt.

"Hello, Mr. Crittenden! Hey there, little lady." he says with a southern drawl.

"Y'all up for ridin' today?" he asks.

Avery nods. "Hey, Pete. Yes, I'd like Zoey to see what we've got and let her pick one out to ride. We're headed to the lake."

"Not a problem, Mister C. Ah think she'd like Ginger a lot." Pete says.

"Would ya like t'meet Ginger, Zoey?" he asks.

Pete smiles at Zoey, tipping his hat.

"Miss Zoey, it's a pleasure to make yer acquaintance. And your friend Svalin is right; don't wanna try ridin' too early, or your horse never quite gets it right." he says, leading the two of them into the stables. The stable is as big as a house in itself, and Pete leads them toward a stall on the left.

Zoey will horses with gray, white, silver and golden coats, ones that are beautiful like Tryggvi and Snowflake, though they don't have wings.

"Your grandmother and Aunt Aurora love horses, Zoey. We all learned how to ride when we were younger, but Aurora loved doing shows and events." Avery says.

Ginger has a reddish-gold coat, and looks over at Zoey when the little girl comes into view. The horse moves forward and dips her head to the little girl, as if encouraging her to pet.

	Zoey very slowly put her hand out, palm up, for the horse to sniff. Svalin had taught her how to correctly approach a strange animal and not scare them. "She's pretty," Zoey said softly. "And she has a pretty name." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"I know, sweetheart. But, she should be here in a few days, and then you can tell about all the cool stuff you got to do. Also, the three of us can go out for dinner and do something fun." Avery tells her.

Soon enough, Peter returns with a saddled-up Ginger for Zoey to ride on.

"And here she is, lil' lady. Now you two take good care of each other, and come back soon now, ya hear?" Pete says with a smile.

With that, Avery will help Zoey up onto Ginger, then begin walking her off toward the lake.

"So, do you have any questions for me, Zoey? Anything you want to know or ask about? You can ask me anything at all." Avery says.

"Adrian and I have always had issues, sweetie. His parents died when he was young, so he came to live with us. He gets along with my dad really well, whereas I don't. We've always been competitive, he and I." Avery says.

"However...he was the person to tell me that the woman I was married to before was doing something really bad. So that's why I'm not married to her anymore. Adrian didn't do it to be nice, though, which is why he and I don't get along." Avery says.

	"Oh." Adult were confusing to say the least. "Do you get along with your sister?" Mom had a great relationship with her sister. So did Svalin, Aridis and somewhat Asleif and with their brother. Zoey thought all brothers and sisters got along. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Avery high-fives Zoey. "That's my girl!" he beams. "Good thing Big Green wasn't playing for money. He would have been a sad...Titan." Avery says. Soon enough, Claudette rides up to them in a golf cart and hands over a picnic basket of goodies and a blanket. She smiles at Zoey again and waves before driving off. 	Avery watches Zoey's expertise at handling the horse and wonders to himself if she might like to do events when she gets older. He reminds himself to talk to Sydney about it later. "So, any other questions for your old man?" he asks, spreading out the blanket for the two of them to sit on, before he sits down to get out the sandwiches for them. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
