An Introductory Reunion.
Tina had to get away from Xavier's for a bit. The closer in proximity she was to her fellow X-types and mutants the higher the odds that she'd develop a new ability. Tina was growing weary of the now-normal searing pain of her genetics rewiring to accommodate something new and while it was fun she couldn't go drinking with Rose every night. She elected to go home for a bit, to go stretch out on her own couch and just relax in the relative peace and quiet of her brownstone. Justin could come stay the night when he wanted to (provided she could lure him out of the lab...some flirtatious texts often did the trick) and she would be safe to try to get a handle on what the hell was going on with her since Providence. Dr. McCoy still had no lead on fixing her and Tina realized she had to psychologically brace herself for the possibility that she might never be her brand of normal again.

Today, she'd gotten up early. Just had been there for the night so she got up, made him breakfast, sent him out the door (which made her feel kind of like a housewife, which as nice) and then sat herself down with a cup of coffee. The day was still pretty early and she had a blank canvas. A second cup of coffee in hand, she tried to decide what to do for the day. It was kind of liberating to have no plans, but boring just the same.

"Well, Ah do want you. Not just because Ah've screwed up my relationship with my son, either. As Ah said, Ah did find you at one point, but Emma told Namor about it and Namor threatened to kill me if Ah came near you again." Bruce says.

"Ah like your diamond skin, Chrissie. You look beautiful." he says.

"Yes, Ah was born and raised in Louisiana to a farmer and a seamstress. We have land there, our family does." Bruce says.

The armor went away and she was regularly skinned again.

"It's one of my abilities. I have several. What about you? What is your mutation? Tell me who you are, Mr. Gotham. It would be interesting to me to know who you are." She paused for a moment.

"Please don't think ill of Namor. He really was very protective of me. I wish he could have been around when I was older. There are some unpleasant things about my personal history that might have been avoided."

	"You're a nullifier." Her eyes widened. She hadn't absorbed from him, this she knew, but he could also, at least for the moment, take away the pain that the abilities she'd already absorbed caused her. "Okay." She held out her hands and they crackled with electricity, blue and green arcs of energy. It was the most recent ability she'd absorbed. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Bruce looks at the power between Tina's hands and extends the field that normally surrounds his body. Tina will feel every single one of her powers shut down immediately.

Bruce takes a deep breath, concentrating on the space between them. He looks at Tina with a great deal of surprise.

"Ah didn't know that you were an absorber." he says, his voice filling with wonder. "You're amazing."

	Her body went quiet for the first time since Providence. There was no pain, no uncertainty, just quiet and normal. Tina smiled. "Oh wow. This...this feels amazing. Does this hurt you at all?" 	"You have several, which Ah have no issue with...but the level at which you possess them makes it so that Ah have to work a little to keep them all negated. "Bruce," she amended with a nod. "You seem very genuine and earnest about wanting to have a true and honest relationship with me on the parent-child level. You also appear to be a man of some business power, given that my mother and Shaw saw fit to wreck your life. With that being the case you need to understand something before you decide if you honestly want to claim me."

She took a deep breath and told him about her childhood and spared no details. It wasn't something that she would ordinarily just disclose but she'd so badly wanted to know her father as a child that the idea of that secret taking him away from her now that he was found.

Bruce listens intently to Tina's story, at first not certain what she thought she could say that would make him reject her. The longer he listens though, the darker his intent expression became.

By the time she finishes, Bruce Gotham is angry enough that he wants to find Sebastian Shaw and eviscerate the son of a bitch himself. He couldn't believe that Emma would be so hateful to her daughter to let this happen to her.

No, she could. Ah'm only sorry Ah didn't outright kill the whore instead of simply removing her memories. Bruce thinks.

The silence continues for a time after Tina finishes speaking and Bruce simply looks at her with abject sadness and pity.

"If Ah could have saved you from that, Tina, Ah would have, no matter what Namor or anyone threatened. You said Namor treated you well, but did he do nothing about this, either?" Bruce asked.

"He didn't know. Emma took him away from my sister and I. He only recently found us himself. I don't know for sure, but I think he's doing something about it. I got information the other day that my primary tormentor is dead."

She looked at him a moment, noticing the pity.

"Please don't look at me like that, Bruce. I'm okay. I'm safe, I'm loved, and I'm happy. My life is good."

"Ah'm sorry, Tina. Ah guess it's just that you've gone through so much and you haven't broken. People have hurt and used and abused you, and yet you still stand." Bruce says, offering her a small smile.

"You and Ah have more in common than Ah first believed, my darling." he says.

"Ah would like to be one of those people who love you and make you happy, if you'd allow it. What is your favorite food?" he asks.

"I'm presently rebuilding that one," she points to the black, 1972 Chevy Impala convertible coupe half under a protective cover to the far left of the garage. "I'm working on another car, but I've got that off-site lest Justin see it. Older cars are more of a challenge sometimes, but I enjoy getting my hands dirty."

She slid behind the wheel of her Jag and he'd notice that she didn't have any keys for it. She didn't need them at all; the car simply started up on its own.

"No one could ever figure out where I got the car thing from."

Bruce had long stopped suppressing Tina's powers, deciding now that he needed to know more about his daughter than just what she's been doing over the years.

"Well, now we know where you got it from and...if these things aren't too personal for you, Ah would like to help you work on one in the future. Maybe a way for us to spend a little more time together, if you want." Bruce says.

Christina was quiet as she thought about this for a moment and negotiated through traffic. Justin, thus far, was the only person who had ever wanted to mess with cars with her. It wasn't exactly that it was special to them, just that Tina had been so alone for everything. She chewed her lower lip, pulling into a parking spot in front of the restaurant.

"I have been considering buying an old Dodge Charger." She looked over to him for a moment as she drew her purse to her from the backseat with her TK. "If you're interested, we could go pick it up today."
