Trouble in Genosha
Paris and Carmella had gotten to bed late, after some extra time and work and much interest and speculation on the whole Latverian Thing. But going to bed late normally never prevented them from getting up early.

This morning, it didn't happen. The sun was starting to climb high by the time Carmella groggily stirred, barely able to open her eyes.

	Angelo may or may not have been smirking slightly at those stressed points from Giovanna, making several trips to and from the kitchen sink to refill his glass. Angelo makes a face, as if flexing some unseen muscle testingly. "Another ten minutes, for safety's sake."

He mumbles in Italian. "Today is enough of a nightmare without risking Andrew and myself being forced to swim the final mile to Hammer Bay."

He clears his throat and takes his sister's hands. "I know you don't want to leave his side, let alone deal with the diplomats, but I promise I'll keep him safe."

And soon, he is ready, clearing his throat politely again.

"Andrew? Sir? I'm ready to depart."

	And, for a moment, Angelo is just a fifteen year old boy trying to defend his actions. He chatters back. "I know that! I wasn't about to return to anyplace less than absolutely secure though!" 	Andrew responds in Italian over the comms, "I haven't shifted yet. It would have put more strain on the teleport. I'll need a heavy shock waiting if I'm going to safely take the field. And he'll get the general picture: a good portion of the Doombots in various locations destroyed or about to be, the majority --many of the particularly high quality in full Latverian royal regalia with particularly formidable weapons at their disposal -- driven back into the harbor. The location at which Andrew is needed is just north of the harbor.

And the young man Carmella had gotten to handle this telepathic message can't manage to leave off the fact that while they haven't so far, there's a tremendous amount of unrest among everyone about not leaving their own waters and airspace in dealing with this outrage.

"Rest here, you've earned it." Andrew tells his ride here. "Join us when you can." He's seen the toll the trip takes.
He makes his way towards the command center as quickly as he can, though it'd be faster if he had a source of energy to absorb. Ah well. As soon as he can find a flier who can carry him, it will speed up. At least he has access to sending info back through the telepath as he goes.

"I'm on my way now. Use our earthmovers, metal shapers, transmuters and so on to put up shield walls, let the Doombots think we're focused on defense only. Have any technopaths, super-brains and anyone with radiowave or radiation detection sweep the fallen Doombots for anything with a still working receiver. I want to quietly intercept and record their transmissions. We can both prove they're the aggressors, and try and trace communications back to their source. If we engage that kind of concentration, we'll take losses. If we can locate and jam their communications, we might be able to take them all out at once without the heavy losses."

The jolt begins his transformation, just slow enough that he has time to toss aside the jacket. At least the shirt wasn't too expensive. Ah well.

"Good, give it to the technopaths and see if they can find the frequency its transmitting on. As soon as they've got it, see if between our tech-specialists and radiowave projectors we can transmit a forged message along the Doombots' secure channel to go to ground operations and invade... this stretch of beach." he says, pointing to a map. "Carmella, have that section of beach abandoned while they're working on that. As soon as we have it, if they follow the order to invade the abandoned area, send them an order to power down... if our enemy is coordinating them directly, they may override them, in which case we know someone with a human brain is nearby, and we can try and trace the signal. If not, we should have a couple hundred captive Doombots... hard to argue with that as proof of invasion. Worst case scenario, they self-destruct on a stretch of empty beach."

As far as jobs of circumventing Doom technology go, this one is fairly efficient.

Until then, repulsor and energy blasts fly for a little while, but it's not that much of a fight. The Doombots don't seem especially coordinated in attack.

And eventually, they do, in fact, head for the evacuated beach, and those assigned to handle the 'hacking' continue with the last phase.

And low and behold, a large number of Doombots collapse on the beach.

Andrew takes the lead on the salvage operations himself, along with some of the other nigh-invulnerables. "Alright, I want them taken one at a time. First mission is to have someone with some technological expertise and personal protection... armor, force field, whatever, prod, poke and disassemble one in isolation, make sure its transmissions are cut off... we know these things can self-destruct. I want to know what we can and can't do to them to get to that point. Keep repeating until we find a way into their main systems that /doesn't/ cause them to blow up. When we find that, I want to find out what they know... who sent them? Why? What was their objective? Doom never has just one plan... we need to know the next phase. Second, I want Carmella relieved until she's had a full checkup and 12 hours' rest. No exceptions. I want to know what they did to the captives, and she's our best link to that. Third, while tech crews are working on the Doombots, someone see if they can raise someone in Wakanda for me. As soon as you get through, even if its just to the royal janitor, call me."

	"Thank you, put me through." he responds, settling in at the command center with coffee, three computer screens to let him track multiple situation more easily without missing anything, and something pulled apart enough to have exposed wiring. 	Akilah had a faint idea of what the question might be. She assumed it would be regarding the state of Wakanda, which was something she had the power to inform on however she pleased. 	He's quite sure they aren't going to be happy to answer this question, which is why he's phrasing it as carefully as possible and leaving no room for equivocation. But, considering the question, and that she was getting it from acting regent of Genosha, Akilah was able to put two and two together. And Wakanda was under her rule, currently. Andrew takes this in, considering the possibilities.
"Based upon that information, I believe that the attacks are a distraction intended to draw attention away from a plot to kidnap the acting rulers of the countries under attack by Latveria. For political reasons, I would suggest we keep that suspicion under wraps for now, but I would suspect that your father is being held in the same location as Magneto."
