Samhain Escape
A chasm opened in the front yard of the Defenders compound on Halloween. From which Eoghan walked out of with the baying of unseen hounds coming from around him.

Eoghan then walked slowly but purposely towards the front doors of the compound and rang the door bell. He was fairly certain that this is how things were done in the mortal realm to let people know they wanted to talk.

He hoped he could do this quickly Eoghan had a lot to do today Samhain was always busy for him.

The hound led the pair with it to a club in the middle of the city call. The place was packed with people dressed in costume enjoying the festivities. The glow of Jack O lanterns were everywhere.

Dawn's uniform was more than enough to pass for a costume--though one of these days, she was going to remember to make the skirt longer, maybe add a mask--and got her in the door (that and a little Jedi mind-tricking).

She looked around for signs of trouble.

Aridis is happily dressed in her usual armor. She can get away with it. She has even flirted with just a few people as they have made their way around.

Not too many though. It seems that she has standards. But she did stop to eye a few of the ore scantly clad men before trotting after Dawn. "Friend Dawn. Dost thou have.... a type?"

At a time like this Aridis, really?

It takes a minute for Dawn's train of thought to catch up with Ardis's out of nowhere question.

"Huh? I mean, okay, yeah, I've got a major crush on Simon Williams still, and your brother's pretty hot and all, but I dunno, most of the guys I've dated are kind of the geekish, bookish type. Kinda like me, I guess. Type begats type and and all."

Aridis giggles softly.

"Mine brother oft hast the pick of the women. He ist not.... a relationship man," Aridis says not talking down about her brother at all. He simply is not the sort who would think of marrying anyone nor would he stick to one woman. He lives in the moment. "Now. I can seeith why thou wouldst seek out others like thine self. I too enjoyist the company of fellow hunters. If the Buffoon hast not abducted me I wouldst have looked at hist brother. He was also.... Smart. In a fun way."

Now she grins like a cat. "What dost thou think of Griffen?"

Dawn looks a little surprised at the suggestion, but manages a smile, even though she continues to keep a look out.

"Griffen? He's completely cute," Dawn said. "Though I don't know if I've ever really talked to him that much. He's kinda, ah, shy, I guess."

"...He has his reasons, me thinks. He ist also sometimes.... Too smart for his own good," Aridis says while thoughtfully scanning the crowd.

"Mayhap you make the first move? Like chess. seeith how he reacts. He ist a man. You will knowith if he ist interested. Men are easy to read when it comes to attraction."

Aridis knows from experience but not all men are like Vikings or men of Asgard.

Yeabuwut?

"Maybe the men you know. Or maybe just you, but I'm usually on the pretty clueless side. So are some of the men, really. There was this guy, Clark, in high school, who was my best friend, but had no clue I really liked him, 'cause he only had eyes for this other girl, Lana and..."

She stopped herself, cutting off the babble.

"So you think maybe I should try chess then?"

Someone was watching the pair and had ever since the dog had come there. He sent two people to inform them that they were invited to the VIP room.

"Perhaps we hath been noticed by our... target?" She shrugs.

"But I wouldst like to continue this latter, my friend. Perhaps we can put our heads together."

"Makes as much sense as anything else tonight," Dawn said. "Either that or its some creepy Russian mob guy old enough to be my father. In which case we'll probably have to beat up a couple of really big bodyguards, but hey, I could probably use the workout anyway and..."

She stopped, smiled. "Yeah, let's do that."

Aridis scans the room. She is trying to not be obvious about what she is looking for but it is hard for an Asgardian of her line to be very subtle.

Dawn's not real good at subtle either, but that's more from nerdy awkwardness than from any Asgardian thing. Which makes sense, since she's not one.

"I really hope it's not some gross mob guy. Do they even have the mob in LA?"

“Then no hard feeling about this then,” he says, “It just has to be done.”

He then raises his hand as says, “By Fire and Air strike.” A lance of fire spring forth at them.

"By the Winds of Watoomb,
That blow from within,
Stave off this doom,
With the Shield of the Seraphim!

Dawn spoke the incantation quickly, summoning a powerful mystic shield between them and the lance of fire.

“I see thou are a wielder of the mystic arts you,” the spirit said to Dawn, “I guess I should show you some real power.”

“By Tanaris’s wheel of thunder,I command you strike,” He said evoking the power of Tanaris sending several balls of lightning from his hands at Dawn who he felt was more of a threat ignoring Aridis.

The vines began to entangle him and he stops the wheel of thunder in an attempt to deal with the vines. Though that last spell had taken a lot out of him. “In Danu’s great name a command these vines to abate.”
