Happy Birthday!
Natasha opened her eyes. It was morning and she was actually waking up on her own instead of to the cries of her son. It was a very rare occasion. Maybe sleeping a little extra longer was Nick's birthday preset to Tony. She turned over and was not too surprised to find her husband still in bed. So far he had been up with her each time that Nick woke her up.

"Happy birthday, my love," she said as she leaned up on an elbow and kissed his cheek. "Moose and squirrel." There. She said it. For him. For his birthday.

Words of Wisdom- Justin

Justin stops by to visit Eddie/Nick and catch up with Misha and Anya as well. When the midget is alone, Justin stops into see him and finds the little boy lying in his crib, looking about at his surroundings.

"Hey, kiddo. Well, I'm Justin Rhodes. Yeah, you'll probably see a lot of me, seeing as how your family and my family are joined at the hip. Your dad and my dad have been friends for years, and my mom basically keeps your dad from being completely uninvolved in his company." Justin chuckles, reaching into slip his finger into Eddie's hand.

The baby grips the finger with surprising strength and Justin smiles at him.

"I wish I had something really awesome to tell you about how life is going to work out, but I'm pretty new around here, too, so I can only tell you the things that I know from my own life. Where I'm from, I knew your dad, but he didn't have kids and he wasn't married. Life didn't go so well for him, though he did whatever he could to make my days better than the last. I come from a world that isn't a lot of fun and is really scary, Eddie. I hope you never know a place like that." Justin says quietly.

"The most important thing I can tell you is this: honor your mother and father. There are going to be a lot of times, as you grow up, that you don't agree with the things they say to you or tell you to do. You'll think they're being unfair or just making you do something because they can and you don't have a choice. Nothing is further from the truth. Every parent does what they have to do to keep their children safe.

You may not like it or understand it, but trust your mom and dad, because they've seen a lot more than you know and all they want to do is help you. So do your brothers and sisters. They all love you and they all want you to have the best and happiest life you can, pal." Justin says, taking a deep breath and thinking over all the times he and his father had argued about some point of tactics or how best to employ the suits' designs.

Justin had been so full of youthful arrogance, convinced he knew the suits better because he'd helped Uncle Tony design something here or there, rather than trusting his father, who'd flown side by side with him for years. Sometimes, Justin woke up late at night in Tina's apartment or his own, not remembering where he was for a moment and would stumble down to his workshop, expecting to see Uncle Tony or Dad hard at work.

When he finally remembered where he was, he would go back to bed to find Tina worried about him or he'd simply be unable to sleep any further, saddened at how much he really missed his dad.

"And every day, you should tell your parents how much you love them. Both of them. Tell your brothers and sisters that you respect and appreciate them, because you never know when one of them will save your live by risking theirs and you'll be left with a thousand things you always wanted to say that you never did, or a things that you /did/ say that you wish you hadn't. Never say something you can't take back, Eddie, because your parents are getting older. All of us are.

Someday, you'll have to have this talk with you own children and I hope you'll be a better son to your father than I was to mine." Justin finishes, dabbing at his eyes a little.

"Just be a good son, little man. And on the off chance that there isn't a Rhodes coming in the near future, it's you and me, kid. Got it?" he asks.

Eddie coos a little bit, seemingly drifting off to sleep again.

"I like that plan, too, pal. See you soon." Justin says, turning to go.
