Dark Reflections
There was a flash of light and the Exiles appeared in a new world with a new problem to fix.

They were in a crowd just outside a courthouse in New York city. The area around the main entrance was filled with people and the media. New York's Finest tried to keep the mass of people back, but the crowd was persistent in getting in close. Two uniformed officers stood near the rear door. One officer opened the door and the other helped the prisoner out of the car.

Captain America exited the police cruiser and the two officers flanked him. Camera flashes went off in a dizzying pattern. Reporters tried to shove microphones in front of Captain America for a quote.

The officers started to lead him up the steps toward the main entrance.

	Sarah is moving from the second there's warning. She's trained enough, it doesn't take her long to pick up on what Lester and Natasha are seeing. She moves in a supersonic blur of flight, leading with her shield to block the shot. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

They were just a little too slow. Two quick shots rang out and the bullets went speeding toward Cap. Sarah thankfully had managed to get there in time to get the shield between the bullets and Cap.

The crowd went into a panic and the sniper was already running across the rooftops.

The people in the crowd started running in all directions and the cops made a feeble attempt to restore order.

	There's something odd about this, but Sarah can't quite put her finger on it. This Carol doesn't seem a whole lot like the part of Carol Danvers personality that helped form the fusion persona of her mother. "I go by Crusader. Iron Patriot touches down on the ground and looks over the motley crew assembled before them. Something about this Crusader makes him uneasy, but he regards her before speaking.

"We'd like to thank you for helping out, Crusader, but we'll ask the questions if you don't mind." Osborn says.

"First off, where are your Identification Cards and what team are you with? The Avengers handles this area and we didn't call for back-up."

	Mac Gargan is watching all of this from the crowd, blending in as a normal until he's needed for action. The blond is pretty cute. He idly wonders how her insides taste, then pushes the thought into the back of his mind. Osborn would kill him if he ha a freak-out just now. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

The other avengers seemed a little off to him but it was good to see that Norman was on the avengers like in his world. They might not have seen eye to eye in the short amount of time he had been with the avengers but he was a good guy.

This whole thing with Captain America was a little weird since in his world he was a big propaganda guy from WWII who had retired from costume after the war and no one seemed to know what had happened to him.

“We aren’t from around here,” Lester said.

	Dane didn't like these people at all, especially the one trying to order people around. He wanted to tell him where he could go to get his ID card, but he decided to let Sarah handle the talking for right now. Norman Osborn? Norman Osborn is with the Avengers? That doesn't seem right. Sure, different realities have their quirks, and maybe this is on the up and up, but these people don't seem right.

"Like he said, we're not from around here. We're dimension travelers. We'd be happy to cooperate with an investigation if needed, but we are still getting our bearings here, so if you could tell us what's going on, it'd help."

	Ares frowns, regarding the strangers. The blonde in particular - that's Thor's hammer, the real one. He can feel its power as much as he could tell his sword from any other. This merits consideration. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
