Dark Reflections
There was a flash of light and the Exiles appeared in a new world with a new problem to fix.

They were in a crowd just outside a courthouse in New York city. The area around the main entrance was filled with people and the media. New York's Finest tried to keep the mass of people back, but the crowd was persistent in getting in close. Two uniformed officers stood near the rear door. One officer opened the door and the other helped the prisoner out of the car.

Captain America exited the police cruiser and the two officers flanked him. Camera flashes went off in a dizzying pattern. Reporters tried to shove microphones in front of Captain America for a quote.

The officers started to lead him up the steps toward the main entrance.

"We've done nothing wrong, we were happy to answer your questions." she replies, starting to try and bring out the bigger figurative guns, swinging the hammer, and using the impact to call down a lightning strike on the same point the hammer impacts, trying to pull back out of the way.

"Look, however you wanted to handle it wasn't good enou--" His reflexes are enough to fly back and mostly dodge the hammer blow. Even with the dodging, just catching the edge of the lightning gets him sizzling... and whining. He hisses between his teeth. "Owww. Now look," he says as he flies forward suddenly and his fist comes up and overhead to just pound into her. "I have enough of a hard time avoiding a nervous breakdown without arguing over instructions."

What is with this guy? He hits like the Hulk, and he's as fast as Quicksilver... but its the whining that's really getting on her nerves. She really doesn't want to get her ass handed to her by a crybaby, just doesn't seem right.

"You look, if you're having trouble with nervous breakdowns, get professional help and out of this business. We're not going anywhere, sight unseen, with Norman Osborn, and people who would arrest Captain America without answering questions about what's going on, sorry."

That's all the time she has while he's reeling, then that fist comes back at her, fast. She's still up when it connects, but he adjusted faster than she could block, taking some of the wind out of her. Her next hammer blow is more trying to buy herself room to operate than any kind of precise.

"Can't quit," he says as he darts back to avoid the hammer. "Stark pays for all my therapy." And he's back again, right, left, not with extreme skill, but just a lot of force and speed. "Sorry," he mutters.

She isn't as strong or fast as he is, but she has skill in spades. She blocks some of the shots, trying to get her own in when he telegraphs too much, though she's having trouble figuring out if she's even hurting him - this isn't a good sign. Where did Osborn find this guy? Wherever he found him, she's steadily being forced back and put more and more on the defensive.

"Its not working."

There's pain, but pretty minor pain, although he's none too happy about it. So he's not even in a state to talk anymore and just does his best to grab hold of her and slam her into the remains of the wall again.

She blocks it, but it ends up not mattering. The force of the blow, even with the vibranium properties of the shield sends her into the wall, already broken up some, enough to bring the building down on both of them.
Its fortunate that the area buildings were cleared of people to prevent rioting when Captain America was brought in, but at the moment, that hardly matters to Sarah as several stories come crashing down.

Bob hadn't really thought through what he wall was attached too. Ouch. Ouch. Ouch. But he starts blasting bits off of them. soon. He's definitely not claustrophobic -- quite the opposite -- but he doesn't like the dark much.

Sarah is tough, but not invulnerable. Combined with the recent beatings she's taken, having a downtown city building fall on top of her on top of the hits she's already taken is too much. By the time Bob digs himself out, she's struggled to the surface enough to breathe, then passes out.
