Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree At the Christmas Party Hop (X-Factor)
Christmas. Yule. Saturnalia. Dies Natalis Solis Invicti. Many cultures have celebrated and still celebrate a winter festival. There have been many names for it over the millennia. No matter the name it is a time to come together and celebrate with feasts and gifts with friends and loved ones.

Each culture has a legendary figure who would deliver gifts to children during this time. In Russia and some Slavic cultures he is known as Ded Moroz, Grandfather Frost, and comes not on Christmas but on New Year’s along with his granddaughter Snegurochka, or ‘”Snow Maiden”. In the United Kingdom and other parts of Europe he is known as Father Christmas. In the Netherlands and Belgium he is known as Saint Nicholas or “Sinterklaas” and in France he is known as Père Noël. In the United States we know him as Santa Claus.

No matter the name or who is delivering gifts, it is the season of peace, joy and togetherness. It is the season for thinking about loved ones, friends and those less fortunate. It is a time to witness the goodness and generosity the human race is capable of. It is a time for peace on Earth and goodwill toward man.

DJ sleeps til 3 in the afternoon - he and Pauline will be up all night at their Christmas concert, which, due to the publicity gained through X-Factor, is expected to be packed, even after being moved to a bigger venue twice.

Everyone is getting gift certificates for music this year, except Pauline, who gets a new microphone, a $75 gift certificate to a nice downtown restaurant, just in case things with the cat chick worked out, and a few new (well, new to her, all of them are from the 70's) vinyl records, confirmed in good condition, including the real prize he had to really dig for, a copy of Siouxsie and the Banshees 'Scream'.

That gets a laugh and a shake of his head. "When I want girl on girl porn, I'll DJ a rave downtown. I just like hearing that my best friend is happy, and actually going out on a date - and it went well enough that there's a second. If that goes well, you ought to invite her to a show. That, or you can surprise her - I'm DJing a couple members-only punk clubs in January, I can get you both in."

Each member of the team has a Christmas Bonus placed directly into their accounts. He also provides them with gift baskets containing an iPod, an Android Phone and gift certificates to the restaurant they all normally eat at together.

Andrew and Giovanna were provided with reservations at a quiet little Italian restaurant not far from where they're staying.

Shopping for Lisa is difficult, because Julian is not a fan of shopping. He'd have had Paulo do it, but if Lisa suspected her gift didn't come from him, she might be offended.

She seemed to enjoy his computer a great deal, so Julian had a top-of-the-line Alienware laptop put together for her with all of the latest items. The screen-saver, however, is the big surprise: the cover of Maxim's upcoming Tuesday issue naming Lisa Graves as "Maxim's Babe of the Year".

He'd asked that they not tell her that she won so he could do so himself.

The desktop background of the computer is a picture of the two of them in a photo booth at Coney Island.

He smiles at the picture, still unable to believe that she talked him into that.

For the most part, Lisa is not a sentimental girl, but she was reasonably fond of her... teammates? co-stars? Whatever. They all got a voucher informing them they were entitled to one pre-paid session with a personal shopper at their choice of a number of boutiques.

Her siblings got care packages with movie passes, Tim Hortons gift cards, and a nice hat and glove set for each of them for the winter.

Then there was Julian. The past year had been good to her, but what do you get someone richer and more connected who pretty much already has bought whatever they want? It took some thinking before she finally settled on something.

There was always a little something 'old world' about his mannerisms she hadn't been able to put her finger on, and he sure had his share of power fantasy (something they shared), whatever nobler goals he might have in mind as well. Something slightly regal was in order.

It had taken some effort to find the right jeweler to commission the signet ring from. None of that chintzy crap either, this was solid black iron with only a little gold filigree for appearance, positioned so that it wouldn't wear away from repeated use. The "J.H." on the emblem were strong and deeply set, with more delicate engravings within the letters. Onyx pieces filled the periods. A high end stationery set and a modest initial supply of sealing wax completed the gift.

After luxuriating in her own present after its delivery, she heads off to meet him, his gift tucked under one arm.

"Merry Giftmas, boss-man." She tugs him by the collar and kisses him, before pushing the wrapped gift at him.

Julian kisses Lisa back, pulling her close to him before she gives him the box. He accepts it and gestures to the computer on his desk.

"Since you liked mine so much, I thought I'd get you one with a surprise or two. Check out the screen saver." Julian smiles, going to open his box.

He finds the signet ring and stares at it for a very long moment. Desmond Howard had a signet ring like it when Julian was a little boy and used to let him play with it at times. Desmond was not his real father, but he'd taken care of him for years and left him all of his family's assets, allowing Julian to start his own empire.

He takes the ring and places it on his finger, noting that it was sized perfectly. Lisa was a lot more clever than he gave her credit for, and Julian gave her a lot of credit for being clever.

"It's perfect." he says quietly, looking from the ring to her.

"My...step-father used to let me wear his ring all the time. He even let me seal things for him from time to time. I asked him for one when I was a boy and he said I could have one when I was older, but he passed away before I ever got it.

I keep his rings in a box with a few of my most treasured possessions and look at it every now and then to remember how I got where I am, because of the lessons he taught me." Julian says, wrapping his arms around Lisa.

"You are amazing. Are you aware of that, Miss Graves?" he asks.

"I'll make a note to do so." Lisa normally opted to have her computer go into sleep mode rather than a screen-saver, but she was curious now. "The background was rather adorable, I'll give you that."

She watched him focus quietly on the ring, raising an eyebrow, but nodding to herself once he slipped it on.

The bit about his past is somewhat unexpected, but she supposes coincidences do happen.

As he puts his arms around her, she rests her hands at his waist, hooking her thumbs into his belt-loops. "Yes, well, you don't keep me on payroll to sleep with you. I do that for free." She smiles up at him, canines slipping into view.

Harry was doing volunteer work for Christmas like he had always done. Some helping out in the hospital and some work at the local food kitchens. He had been lucky enough to dodge most of the press while he had been doing this. He really didn’t want the press judging him on that stuff since he had always done that.

He had gotten the members of the team an ornament with the team’s name on it as gifts.
