The End of One Show Just Starts Another
Chris had always thought that the six day interval between Christmas and New Year's was the hardest section of days on the calendar to get anything done at all. However, this year on the 28th, she had something she damn sure wasn't going to miss. Pauline had invited her to come to one of her shows, and to go out afterward for sandwiches and whatever else.

For fun, and to make sure Pauline saw her there, she'd brought along a sign with a picture of a kitten with "I CAN HAZ!" pasted beneath it.

She couldn't help but grin as the band was introduced and brought out.

	"Deej is our primary songwriter. Usually, me and the guys just suggest a few refinements once he comes up with something, but sometimes He and I get a bit more collaborative, like with "In My Backyard." "That was really heavy stuff in that one. I liked it." She smiles, then lowers her voice. "And yes, I'm aware of how much societal privilege the blonde and blue-eyed 'hot chick', as you mentioned, daughter of a hero who wasn't a mutant until recently has likely been enjoying."

She shakes her head. "Dad got this crazy skinhead fanboy one time going on about 'the glory of the aryan giant'."

She nods. "Good for you. Mom was famous enough that I tend to get by, or at worst get mistaken for an extra from a Weber musical."

Chris pauses, munching on a fry. "If it's alright for me to ask, just out of curiosity, did you switch tones one day, or did you come out of the oven that way? My particular power cocktail has been around all my life. Made for a very interesting infancy for Mom, before I got old enough to understand what I was doing."

	"Sounds like a class act." Chris finishes clearing her plate, then just sits back and lets out a contented sigh. "This was good stuff... I probably need at least an hour before dancing." She pauses.
