Bittersweet Homecoming
The view from the highest tower in Asgard was the same as she remembered it, but this time it didn't offer the calm and peace it usually did. Svalin's heart and mind were heavy and the beauty of the Golden Realm didn't offer the solace she had been seeking.

It was good to be home and good to be back in Asgard, but at the same time she was sad to be home. She'd probably never see Jon again. He had been right when he said they each had duties to see to and she would do hers. She just wished it didn't hurt so much.

Momone had been happy to see her return and Sif being Sif was proud Svalin had proved herself worthy and would take her proper place in Asgard. Momtwo had practically smothered here with TLC and had noticed she wasn't herself. Svalin had told her about Jon and the time spent with him. It got her a good dose of home cooking and a generous amount of mead. Nothing helped heartache than some TLC from Momtwo.

She swore Astrid and Eir had grown a few inches in the months Svalin had been gone. Skari had grown a lot. Soon he would be taller than Svalin, but she would still be able to kick his ass if needed.

Svalin had made a quick stop to pay respects to Lord Odin and Lady Frigga, but for the most part she kept to herself.

Thor sighs, placing a hand on his daughter's shoulder.

"Twas not mine desire... tis the way of Asgard. We... art not mortals, in part because we hath not their freedom. A great weight, and a great responsibility hang o'er us all. Would that we couldst give in to our heart's desires... I wouldst now give nigh anything to save thee from this pain... for no father wants to see his daughter in such a state. Defender's Compound

Svalin smiled when Tryggvi landed on the front lawn of the compound. It was a second homecoming and she couldn't wait to see her siblings. The people outside the gate didn't go unnoticed.

She dismounted and grabbed the bag that contained the dragon parts for Asleif. She patted Tryggvi on the nose and thanked him before sending him off to graze on the lush green grass.

She entered the main building. "Defenders!" she called out.

	Dawn came out of the main house. She recognized Svalin, of course, from the team pictures and the handful of Asleif-memories still rattling around in her head. But she hunt back, letting the others who knew her better greet her first. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	There was the sound of running feet before a very loud yell. "SVALIN!" Zoey yelled and launched herself at the Asgardian. "I hath missed thee! I'm so glad you're home!" Zoey gave her a bear hug. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Eiltin heard all the commotion and came walking in late with Ruarc. The dog quickly stared Svalin down and determined she wasn’t a threat and just stayed happily with Eiltin. Eiltin had a fairly good guess as to who the Asgardian warrior woman was but stayed back and out of the way. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
