Three Course Day
Vincent was single this Valentine's Day, but he was determined not to let himself be dragged down by that. To that end, he'd arranged friend-dates with three ladies he was inordinately fond of.

What, do the college girls see through this whole Preppy-Eurotrash thing you've got going? Or do you think you can score easier with high-school girl?" Ben asks, moving away from Kassi's kiss.

As Vincent reaches out with his senses, he notes a couple of things: first, Ben seems to be trying the same empathic sensory that he's doing. Secondly, that as angry as Ben appears, he seems to be enjoying the conflict erupting here.

Finally, both sets of emotions don't appear to be in concert with each other. Almost like Ben's emotions are going in different directions at once.

Vincent's ego takes a nick at Kassia not having mentioned him, but common sense overrules it, deeming it understandable.

"I'm nineteen, and when last I checked, Kassia was capable of deciding for herself whom she spends time with." He ignores the Eurotrash comment, deeming it beneath him.

When the read comes back, Vincent frowns, taking a step forward and shoring up his mental defenses. A brief message flickers to Kassia's mind. Step back.

He reaches out again. He has part of the young man's name, but forewarned is forearmed. Humans wear their identities, for the most part, on their sleeves. He manages to read a little further.

"Mister Parker..." Vincent's voice seems to take up space in the room. "..what are you carrying with you that's so excited by this.. conflict?" A pause. "I can help you."

	This is just getting worse by the second and Kassi pulls back from Ben when he refuses her kiss, looking stricken. Then Vincent opens his mouth. "Shut UP Vincent! Both of you! I am NOT into Vincent and if Vincent is trying to perv on me I will punch him into paste." She actually gets between them. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

A part of Ben's mind salivates at the idea of battering Vincent within an inch of his life and making him crawl the rest of the way. Perhaps, if Kassia were not between them, he would act upon his desires.

Something in Kassi's and Vincent's voices, however, give Ben enough presence of mind to assert himself, albeit briefly. Vincent can now sense that Ben is not alone in his mind. There is someone or somethig else there...and it has sensed his intrusion.

We do not /need/ your help. Your interference will not be tolerated again. a deep, otherworldly voice intones inside of Vincent's head.

Then there is what can only be described as a high-pitched scream inside of Vincent's mind, forcing him out.

At that moment, Ben simply stares at Vincent, then looks to Kassi.

"Do what you want. I don't care." he says coldly. "And I'll see /you/ around Vinnie."

He turns and leaves this time, slamming the door behind him.

	Okay, that was not human. Vincent flinches as it screams in response to his scan. His mouth hangs open slightly as Kassia reacts, then leaves. He hurries into the hallway, hoping to deal with the presence first. Whatever has hold of this Ben, it's not sitting well with him. Or with Vincent. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Ben leaves the building as quickly as he came, his clothing changing into his costume and hiding his face from sight. The symbiote takes over at this point, two hours before Ben has to be at school. New York's criminal element has a very bad Valentine's Day. (Reply to this)(Parent)
