After the auction, before meeting Svalin and Vernique
Jordan didn't at all mind the looks of the woman who bought him, though it looked like she was talking to a friend... who he also doesn't mind a bit. However, observing certain other details, something else grabs his attention.

He heads over to the girl in the wheelchair. Well, the one that isn't Mel.

"Miss McCoy?"

"They're bouncing ideas for a little kids' video game. 'Help Little Buzzer Become a Princess' or something. The idea is, they start with that character, she has to adventure, with other members of the Buddies helping her, to earn money. When she has enough money, she goes shopping - and the little girls need to help her make smart fashion choices, accessorize correctly and so on. If they go default, she ends up like the show... but they get points for correctly matching colors, selecting the right shoes for the kind of activity she has planned, things like that. If you earn enough points, she can be a princess. I think they want to try and option in some Van Dyne fashions for some of the wardrobes, and to expand like that, they'd need your family's permission. You'd get a share of the profits and free advertising for van Dyne - and probably a consulting role to help toy designers know what goes with what."

Casey wasn’t saying much. He got the feeling that he was going to be hearing a lot about little kids shows in the future and didn’t have any particular interest in starting now.

Svalin being pregnant that was a bit unexpected but with the no alcohol thing he thought it made sense. He also completely understood where Svalin was coming from there with his own kid due in a few months.

As that is indeed the bartender's recommendation, there'll soon be a huge thing of roast beef sliced up for them, and plenty of bread. It's all fresh-roasted and baked enough to keep the owner from raising eyebrows if he was having it, so it's pretty darn good.

"Mmm." Vernique says happily, then smiles a little at Svalin with her double order. "Baby's craving protein, you think?"
