More Bloodsuckers in Washington
It had taken them some time to reestablish themselves back in Washington DC to influence the politics of the country but for a Vampire it hadn’t taken to long at all. They were start off slow gaining control over up and coming politicians that might someday make it big and be very nice to have in their pockets.

They had set up a cover as lobbyists, which worked as a great cover to get close to and talk to the politicians that they had in mind. They already had being building influence in several very promising politicians thru varies means and had even managed to get some of their human followers in on the staff of some of the ones that they thought had the most promise.

So far they had managed to staff of the radar of anyone who might be about to interfere with their plans here and had already dealt with some people who had caused some problems for them in a very permanent way.

Eli likes the look of this car a lot more than the last.

"Very good looking car, I must say. I know a few people who would be in heaven if they were here." Eli says.

"I hope that I am not keeping you from your date, Miss Mirandola. I do not want start any trouble." he says.

"As do I." There was a very good reason why she'd never bring Akantha to a glitzy charity function like this. The cars would be missing hood ornaments, the guests jewelry, the dinner tables silver. "But I'm here on my own, not to worry."

"Good to know. I would not want any misunderstandings." Eli says.

"What other cars would you have, if they were still available?" he asks.

"I have seen that one before. Very classy, in my estimation." Eli says.

"Do you have any favorite modern vehicles?" he asks.

"A lot of Volkswagon's current stuff is cute, but not really worth getting behind the wheel-- why Judy, hello."

"Mandy!" said the smiling middle-aged political operative dressed to the nines. "I just had to tell you. I say someone else with the same paperweight as you. I never thought I'd see another paperweight that crazy in my life!"

Amanda's smile suddenly gets frozen. "...Why, isn't that a crazy coincidence?" She says cordially, but someone who hasn't been into the champagne. "Who on earth could have another one? Papa always said ours was one-of-a-kind." Yes, one of a kind. A very Particular Kind. Oh, this would Not Do, but she's trying to keep her concern off her face.

"This gorgeous young lobbyist who invited us over to his office the other day...night.. .well, the other dusk, I guess."

There's a lot of tension in Amanda that she's trying not to show. "I wonder if he'd be willing to part with it for my Collection, or at least compare our two -- you're sure it looked just like mine?"

"Totally sure!"

Eli doesn't say anything while Amanda talks to her friend, but something in the tone of the conversation alerts him that Amanda just got some news she wasn't prepared for. He waits until the conversation ends, then speaks up.

"Is everything all right?" he asks.

Amanda waved good bye, and then Eli asked the question, and she hesitates. "I'm...fine, thank you, Eli. A nice young man like you doesn't want to be worrying about stuff like this."

"If something is wrong, Miss Mirandola, I would like to help. I am not the kind of man to leave a beautiful woman to deal with an issue on her own unless she truly asks for it." Eli says.

"So, will you tell what is going on or must I follow you around?" he asks.

When they've gone out into the night, and she's sure they're alone, Amanda, feeling strangely comfortable trusting a strange young man in this one particular case, says quietly. "I collect antiques. The one Judy was talking about is part of a set that has... potentially dangerous side-effects on the environment around it, and really shouldn't be sitting around in just anyone's office."

Eli considers Amanda's words. She might not be saying everything she knows, but if this antique is dangerous, it needs to be found and dealt with.

"If you were to get this item, what would you do with it?" he asks.

"Miss Mirandola, you'd be surprised at how open-minded I can be." Eli says cryptically.

"I would like to see this item and determine if your information is true. If it is, I will release it into your custody so that no one else is harmed." Eli says.
