Valentine's Night.
He'd headed to work as soon as he got up in the morning, barely stopped for lunch, and worked some more. Valentine's Day at a plant shop was kinda busy; go figure. Then there was the charity thing and a beautiful evening with Andrea. Mac had had an exhausting but excellent day.

And then he got home, and knocked on Kassi's door to check on her.

"Vincent's Andrea's ex. He and I aren't getting along too well at the moment, and I don't know everything he can do. So what I need to know right now, Ben, is where you were at breakfast time yesterday, because I'm trying to do this by the book here. Then I go back to Vincent and I do what needs doing. I don't want Kassi facing any of this until I've sorted it out."

"I...went to get Kassi a gift-card to the new vegan restaurant she wanted, and I waited around for a bit for it to open. I think I went to Kassi's place, but I don't know if I saw her." Ben says, suddenly unsure of his memories.

He still can't figure out who this Vincent guy is.

Mac listened. Well, that settled it. Sure as hell and raging to the stars he hadn't seen her since Friday not fifteen minutes ago, and now he 'doesn't know if he saw her or not' yesterday. If it wasn't a normal mental illness, somebody mindscrewed the boy.

"Okay. If you've got that homework on you, I'll give it to Kassi, and here's hoping I can get her feeling better and back at school tomorrow."

"Yeah, I do, too. See ya." He watches Ben go, making sure it's not towards his and Kassi's places.

Then he pulls out his cell as he heads for the Baxter building. "Dude, we have a problem."
