Getting Ready For School (open)
School shopping with a very opinionated five-year-old was an experience Sydney would like to forget, mutant power aside. It had been a constant battle for the past three hours. Zoey loved being out and loved going shopping, it was just her taste in clothes. Everything the child picked out had been black. It wasn't any place strange where she picked up her taste in fashion, but did everything have to be black?

It just made school shopping VERY difficult.

In the end most of Zoey's clothes were black, but Syd had managed to get the child to agree on some clothes with other colors in them.

Syd sighed as the front door closed behind her. She dropped the numerous bags she carried in the foyer. First something cold to drink, then she'd come back and grab the bags to put the clothes away. This year Syd had bought her at least double what they had bought last year. It was nice to have a good paying job and to be able to provide for her daughter. Zoey's birthday was in a week and Syd would be able to make it the best birthday of Zoey's life. She just had to find time to go shopping without Zoey.

She made her way into the kitchen in search of that cold drink.

"Indeed, I hath learned that young Zoey's birthday ist only a short week away. She hast a love of horses, but hast ne'er owned one. Instead, her mother ist purchasing some sort of odd mechanical conveyance which can be ridden, but it seemst poor substitute for a young girl. Methinks we shouldst locate a proper horse for her - but a young one, that she must help raise and care for, of course."

"Aye, that soundith a better plan," Aridis agrees. "We can travel to a place in the city I hath found that deals in the selling of horses. She would need one of gook stock and a good temperament for training since this will be her first time in training and raising a creature, I am sure. Tis about time for a child to take on such responsibilities."

Aridis had been thinking of getting another horse to ride while they were here but had opted not to since most of the adults did not look like proper war horses to her but yes, they were healthy.

"Aye, twas my thought as well, but both thee and Svalin ride better than I, and know more of training horses. But I remember when both of thee wert given thy first horses. Methinks we canst find her a spring foal, not yet ready to ride, but well ready to leave its mother. And for the other news I promised thee, I hath been shown a place only a few miles distant which deals in mead, and wilt sell to me."

	"Aye, we should. It will be a good day." Aridis enjoyed the idea of helping to teach Zoey about horses. There was much she and Svalin could teach the child. It was a thing to look forward to but first they needed a good foal. (Reply to this)(Parent)
