Back in the saddle again
The date was a little awkward, what with both girls getting married soon, and him not being all that familiar with any of the people involved first hand before-hand, but it was still pleasant... and had some promise. Worst case scenario, if she's more truly married than she indicated, he can always call this a business meeting and take the write-off, since there is some business to discuss.

First things first, arranging the date. He makes reservations - in Canada, so getting some wine with dinner shouldn't be an issue, rents a limousine, makes arrangements for her flight, and sets up possible options for movies or dancing after dinner if she likes.

Its been way too long since he's been on a real date.

"Yes, hello. Is Vernique there?"

"Very kind of you to offer," Vernique says sincerely, smiling. "But I'd rather just stay reasonably discreet about that one. With Captain America for a godfather, one does what one can to avoid the Disappointed Look."

"I kind of figured you'd say that, but figured I'd also ask. After all, only so many Americans get knighted."

"A thoughtful offer rarely goes amiss." Vernique sipped some wine.

He has some more wine, finishing it as the net course arrives. "So, I should ask while we have some time here, while you're out tonight, did you want to see a show? See the town? Head back after dinner?"

Jordan draws out his phone, tapping a few keys. "Let's see, we can hit the theater. APN has a show entirely in ASL, and An Almost Perfect Thing showing. There's Shakespeare in the Park's evening show. Movies... you're the guest, I'm the tour guide. What's your pleasure, madameoiselle?"

"I can't watch An Almost Perfect Thing tonight; I've heard about it, and I'm sure it's good, but I couldn't get over the implications of everything. Let's go with Shakespeare."

"No difficulty. Shakespeare it is. The local company is quite good. Maybe not Broadway good, but good."

"I'm too easily distracted by hobbies. Frailty of a busy mind... robotics, computer science, Canadian and international law, French literature and cinema, classic and action movies, hockey... but really, when I get the chance, my real devotion is for extreme sports. Especially skiing and snowboarding."
