Dinner and People Watching (Friday Night)
Anya was running on time for a change. At promptly 5:45 she was downstairs in the foyer waiting for Iason. She was dressed in a little black dress, heels and her hair done. It had only taken her an hour to get ready, which for her had to be some sort of record.

They had 6:30 reservations at Mesa Grill. Six would have been difficult to make and they weren't in a rush. Mesa Grill should be extremely busy, it was a Friday night and dinner time, and would be a great opportunity for Iason to watch humans. Anya had to drop the Stark and Romanov names to even get a reservation.

She double checked her appearance. She wasn't nervous, she just knew that there would be paparazzi and she always wanted to look her best.

She waited patiently for Iason.

Dinner was done and miraculously Anya managed to get through it without having to put both feet in her mouth. Thankfully part of her mind was still thinking rationally.

The car had been waiting for them and it took them to S.O.B.'s. Anya was in the mood for Latin music and it was upbeat and energetic. Perfect for someone with high energy levels.

Getting in wasn't a problem. Iason looked old enough to not get carded and Anya had her fake ID. Anna Roman was going dancing.

They stepped inside and the sights and sounds washed over them.

For his part, when things like salads and entrees and other such complicated things showed up, Iason had turned from flirting to lots and lots of questions. He learns quickly, but while he has a decent overview, there's clearly a lot he's missing too, such as which fork to use when and how to dine in Earth's version of polite society.
On the way to clubbing, there's a dozen more questions about things and people he observed. At least it keeps it easy and above board for a while.
At sight of the club, his eyes light up. He obviously hasn't seen anything quite like it in a while, and he's both intrigued and enthused. Even moreso when he steps inside, feeling the music washing over him in waves and beats.

"Did you want to try and show me how to dance and trust me not to make too much a fool of myself, or shall we sit and watch for a little while?"

	"Whatever you want to do. I'm easy...going." Whew. This night was proving much more difficult than she had thought. She enjoyed answering all of his questions and it had kept her mind off of certain things for awhile. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

He heads for a table so he has a place to put his jacket, as he's seeing a lot of the guys doing. He doesn't sweat, and isn't termperature sensitive, so the practicality escapes him a bit, but he's good at following cues.
"I'd like to sit for twenty minutes or so, perhaps? I can learn some moves and you can fill me in on anything I'm missing here. This is definitely a new type of dancing for me."

He considers that several long seconds, a little confused, then nods. "Ok, Latin American? I was under the impression no culture on Earth still spoke Latin regularly. It looks very... espressive, passionate. I think it should be fun." he adds, following some of the dancers with his eyes.
"Could you point out who is a 'good dancer' and who isn't? I can't tell the difference at this point and don't want to learn the wrong steps."

	"Sorry, yes, Latin America. I forget that some of your family still speaks Latin." "There are no wrong steps," she said. "Unless you step on your partner's toes. He turns his gaze on the dancers, studying them as he replies. "Most of my family. It was an easy way for Eternals following different cultures to talk to each other without giving themselves away for centuries. I'm not perfect at it, but fairly fluent. Dad insisted. That, Greek, French and Cantonese. One of the areas not being a telepath made a lot harder. Not nearly as bad as learning Skrull Prime though. Its not designed for non-shapeshifters."

He follows the man's moves a few more steps. "I think I could do that."

	"I'll eventually remember that your family isn't a typical family," she said. "I know a few languages. Russian, French, Spanish, a smattering of Latin and I'm learning Mandarin." He extends a hand to her, starting to stand. "I'd love to try it, certainly." He's done enough dances, it seems like he can pick this up.
"Is there such a thing as a typical family? Either way, my family is definitely different than about anything you'd find on Earth, yes. Speaking of which... we share at least one language in common, and it sounds like your family, and thus the Avengers have some ties with Russia. Willing to help me learn Russian, and brush up on my French?"

	She put her hand in his and smiled as she stood up. "I think there is, I've just never seen one. The closest I've seen to one is Uncle Steve's family." "You could say that we have some ties to Russia." She was only third in line for the throne. "But I would be glad to teach you Russian and help you brush up on your French." 	She may be about to find out, since dancing isn't exactly a no-touch zone. He steps onto the floor, not really able to talk now, since she's a non-telepath, and focusing on dancing. He's a little self-conscious at first, trying to get a feel for the beat, but he has a fair knack for it, and great coordination. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Anya followed his lead. Despite her Type A personality and desire to do everything, she could let a guy lead when it came to dancing. She was all smiles as they danced. There was nothing, save for kicking bad guy ass, that she enjoyed more than dancing. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

He's obviously enjoying it just as much, and while he's still missing a lot of the Latin dance moves, he's proficient in enough others to make up for it and look pretty good doing it. Having a partner who knows what she's doing, and is ok with him not being perfect, so long as he avoids her toes, definitely doesn't hurt.

Nor does being a really pretty couple on the dance floor. Its not long before they're getting some looks of their own.

	Along with the looks came the sound of cell phone cameras clicking along with digital cameras taking pictures. Anya ignored it as always. As long as they weren't actively disturbing her or annoying her, she let them be. 	Close. Close was go...bad. Especially with the thoughts she had been having all night. "I'm glad you're enjoying this. Improvising is fun. Much more than having to follow laid out routines."
