Ah, New York. He hasn't been here in a while. He hasn't seen some of his little cousins (it had been a long time since trying to find irony in using 'little' had been funny) in a while, either. Never even got a chance to catch up on some of Iason's extraplanetary shenanigans.

And when he found that he and Kalypso were out and about alone, he went right after them.

"Miss me?" He said as he came to a sudden halt on the very street corner they were standing on.

He laughs and shakes his head. "I like girls... Mom would throw ten kinds of fits if I didn't. And therein lies one of the two problems. One, I'm not sure what Earth etiquette is on these things. The whole dating thing seems like fun, but I'm not really ready for a girlfriend... especially a mortal one. I'm still kind of wrapping my brain around the idea of such short lives... and second, Mom will have ten more kinds of fits if I even think about seeing anyone for too long. We finally cleared up after our last trip that I can't handle kids yet, but she'd still prefer I get used to, erm, sleeping around is the term?"

"Well for guys, there's no social faux paux with sleeping around. Some guys make a life out of it. Tony Stark, Anya's dad, was infamous for sleeping around. He was one of the few mortals who could come close to competing with my mother. Which, I'm sure they've slept with each other at some point. For girls it's different. They're not supposed to enjoy having sex or have it with more than a few mem. Double standards. Mortals are strange at times."

"Right, but those are social standards, which isn't the same as, well, how things work. I'm like dad that way, I guess. Worried about mortals' feelings and all. Besides, if one gender its fine for, what happens with the girls who are supposed to be looking for these life-long commitments when guys just sleep with them and go on? I don't want to make myself unwelcome either."

"Well the easiest thing to do would be to lay out the expectations right off the bat. Tell them that it's a fling and nothing serious. If they can handle it, you get to have some fun and if they can't, then you keep looking for the next one. Though I by far not the expert on this. Tony Stark may be a good person to talk to. The man lived that kind of life for a very long time."

Kal blinked and then started laughing. "You sure do know how to get into the thick of things. Daddies can be over protective of their daughters, that is true, but Tony Stark isn't like most dads. I've always gotten the impression that Miss Stark does what she wants with or without her father's approval or permission."

Kal shrugged. "You could always talk to my mother."

And yes, I'm familiar with fathers and daughters... you should have seen the fireworks when mom tried to set me up with the Kree warlord's daughter, without mentioning it to her father... or mentioning to me she hadn't mentioned it to the warlord."

He rolls his eyes. "Believe me, I know she wants grandchildren. Despite being possibly the worst seductress ever. She has no concept of subtlety, no matter how many times anyone tries to get through to her. She'd completely flip if I ever tried to have a girlfriend. But this whole hedonist thing sounds like it has potential. I'm somehow sure it'll get me in trouble somehow though."

He shrugs. "I forget, you hadn't spent much time in Olympia. Long as everything is normal, they'll go long periods without really worrying about it. News gets out you're moving in with a mortal though, its enough of a shift that its more interesting than all the time-passers. Most of them probably won't stay long, but you're right, about half of the likely prospects may just pop in."
