Svalin was stretched out on one of the large couches in the rec room of the main building and was trying hard to enjoy sitting still. Her feet and ankles had started to swell and her wife wasn't going to let her do much besides sit and put her feet up as much as she could. Svalin had tried to argue but it didn't get her anywhere except sitting on the couch with her feet up.

She sighed and looked at the television. To Kill a Mockingbird was on and Svalin was still waiting for the killing to start. Why was kill in the title if there was no killing in it? It didn't make much sense to her, but it was one of her wife's favorite movies and Svalin would watch it.

Svalin focused on the television and was surprised by the sudden kick. She gasped and reflexively put her hand on her stomach.

	Eiltin was at the Defenders base. He didn't like going into the city much unless he had to. This seemed like one of those times with a massive out break of vampires like this. He had heard all about them from his father and his teacher. He grabbed his spear and ran out to help leaving Ruarc behind to guard the base. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Eiltin was running faster than human sight could make out when he hit the vampires. Holding the spear horizontally he proceeded to plow into them trying to aim the spear head to take off theirs. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	The spear went into the heads of two vampires who happened to be in line with each other. While Eiltin took a moment o pull the spear out of the impaled vampires more came onto the scene and two tried to jump him. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Using his speed he ran up and grabbed the spear in a twisting jumping flip pulling the spear free and bring it over and down to slice a nearby vampire in half the long way. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Doing that slice move had cost Eiltin his momentum to be able to dodge all three vampires jumping him. He was able to avoid one but the other two were able to get a hold of him.

But he took off running in a large loop quickly gaining speed. His body could take moving that these speeds but he didn't think that the vampires could or at least keep holding on as such speeds.

	Vampires were a hardy race and could withstand moving at that speed. However it was hard to hold on. One slipped off but the other held on. He tried to sink his fangs into Eiltin. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	The vampire brought a hand up to block the spear, but doing so caused him to loosen his hold on Eiltin and he went flying off. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	With the vampires off him Eiltin turned around to press the attack. He ran towards the nearest vampire to run it through with his spear. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Bram was in the process of hunting down a Loup-Garou in northern Canada when he heard the news about what was happening in LA. He wished there was something he could do to help out down there but he was to far away to be able to help out now. (Reply to this)(Parent)

Dawn had seen the news report earlier, and now she'd resolved to do something about it. Maybe it was a little bit of pride creeping in, but where the notion of vampires would have once sent her into a paralyzing fit, now she felt more compelled by duty than anything else.

She'd needed to get out into the city to do this properly, but now she'd found a rooftop and was floating, cross-legged, as she attempted to work a spell for finding any of the bloodsuckers.

Dawn took in a deep breath, going over some spells in her head, preparing a few basic incantations for the ones she'd know she'd need. The Flames of the Fallentine would be her best shot. Nice blasts of mystical flames. The Rings of Ragadoor for containment if she had too...

And when in doubt, plain old mystic bolts and shields.

She took another breath and spent a little mystic energy to get herself airborne. Times like this, it was enough to make her envious of her mentor's Cloak of Levitation.

She flew towards the location her spell had found.

Well, that was... a little more than she really had hoped to deal with at one time. Dawn had been hoping for maybe, oh, three, work her way up, that kind of thing.

But she was here. And if dealing with stuff like this was part of her job... well, okay then.

She chanted quickly, finding the right rhyming words, and unleashed a blast of the Flames of the Fallentine at the nearest vamps.

	Dawn forced herself to remain calm, even as her legs told her she really, really, needed to run here. Primal fear of the terrors that crept in the dark came rushing back into her.
