Cookout
There had been an invitation for Excalibur to attend a cookout with the Defenders for Independence Day. Quinn was a Brit by birth, but he had spent half of his life in New York. He considered himself a Yankee as well as a Brit.

When it was time he teleported all from Excalibur who wanted to go to the Defenders compound. Quinn was looking forward to a day in the sun, on the beach and watching girls in bikinis with a lot of good food on hand. Not to mention Asgardian mead. It would truly be a wonderful day.

They arrived in a flash right outside the gates to the compound. It was rude to arrive inside the gates and Quinn didn't feel like fighting. He was a lover, not a fighter.

"Hi Andy." Marlow beamed at him. "Is he behaving himself? I told him it would be okay to let you and Jenny have the weekend and we'd do something next weekend. But tell him I miss him, because I do. It's just not the beach without him."

"He's behaving, though he says he can't wait until you guys have the beach all to yourselves again. I really don't want to know what that means, so I won't ask." Andy says.

"But thank you two for letting me see Jenny while she's here. I keep thinking I should just throw her over my shoulder and run off, laughing maniacally. I wonder if her teammates would try to blow me for doing it?"

"I think you should do it if you want to. It's a good day for running on the beach." Marlow shaded her eyes and looked back toward the compound. She couldn't see Jenny, but she knew the visitor was around the main house. "I know Quinn would laugh a lot."

"I would, but Jenny might bounce me into the ocean if I do. She's okay with it if she attacks me first, but if I get her, she's always plotting how to get me back." Andy chuckles.

"So, I think I'm gonna do it, just to do it." he laughs.

She laughed with him. "I'd like to see that!"

Impulsively, she affectionately touched his arm. "Go play, Andy. There are a lot of pretty gods here. One of them might steal her first if you don't carry her off."
