What have I become?
It wasn't hard to find the reef Kassi had spoken of. It was harder to make herself come. Even though Kassi had offered her help unselfishly, pre-guilt over what might happen to her sister wracked Marrina. What if she hurt her? Or worse? When her body and mind raged so much out of control as they had been, it was impossible to say what she might do.

Marrina took a deep breath as she bobbed in the water. It would be so easy to just run away from it all. From Namor and Mac and Kassi, and... Mason and... and maybe not so easy.

But she knew what her mother had become. Knew that she'd had to be put down. She wouldn't, couldn't do that to her friends and family.

	Namor tore his way through the ship, moving to reach the ship's engine. MacKenzie would get his cousins out; Namor had no doubt of that. But whoever was responsible for this madness would not get away while they were distracted. Namor would see to that. 	The Master was fleeing from Marrina. He had no idea what he had unleashed, what the girl had become, but with his ship under assault and the girl about to get angry, he had made the rather smart decision to head for the escape pod. ...Which brought him right into Namor's path. The fins twitched as she watched, the movements similar to those of her former ankle wings.

Her hands ended in sharper points, but she was surprised to find that the webbing between them remained. Odd. And yet also much the same.

"I... guess?" she said, still trying to take this in. "Those things that attacked us," she added, her mind shifting tracks, "they were my brothers and sisters. Weren't they?"

Kassia listened to the sounds around them, namely of their cousin trying to access them and their father looking to avenge them.

"I vote we let Dad do that," Kassia said quietly. "I think for him it's extra personal."

Namor was going to freak out when he saw Marrina, she just knew it. He had loved her mother. It was palpable in his mind. This was going to mess with him in epic ways.

	Marrina scooped Kassi up. "Next time then," she said, almost grinning. Experimentally, she tried flapping the fins. Amazingly, they provided the same kind of lift as her ankle-wings had.
