Well, if it isn't my favorite divine consort/sorceress?
Corey faced it. She deserved to know. He had to tell Marlow about this. So he called, holding the geneology sketchbook with him.

"The current Ghost Rider. His name's Nick. His parents...did stuff to him. Bad stuff. Deals with Mephisto and trying to kill him when he was a baby and stuff like that. I just... wanted you to be on the lookout in case your relatives ever came looking for you to carve things in your hands or whatever. I found it in this little shop off Rampart. An old priestess - I forget how to pronounce the word properly -- had it before she died."

	"I'm..." She put her hand over her mouth and pressed hard. Of course orphans had family, they had to be born, but hers... All she knew was Clea and Doctor Strange. They were in every way her parental figures. This was wrong. But Corey had no reason to lie. He didn't even know her really. Maybe it was all a mistake. "May I borrow the book?" Marlow could only stare, vaguely disappointed. He didn't look anything like the images of Ghost Rider she's seen during her lessons. She expected /something/ heat related. But then, gods were kind of ordinary when they weren't being godlike. Possibly she wasn't sorceress like when not actively casting a spell.

She held the book in her arms like a shield. "You don't look familiar at all."

	When he sits, there is some sign of the demon possession - specifically, the pentagrams carved into his hands, long since scarred up in that distinctive pattern, showing no sign of ever healing beyond that. He looks at her closer a few moments. "I can't tell you a lot about what it is, but I can tell you a lot about what it isn't. Its definitely a possessing entity, but its not infernal. Not something of Scratch, or Mephisto, Satannus... any of those. It might or might not be evil... but its neither from one of the hells, and isn't divine. Which also means that you and I don't use the same flavor of magic, since everything I do is decidedly black magic and hellfire."

"Nothing. I was given to the Sorceress Supreme of the Dark Dimension as a baby. She and Doctor Strange taught me to use magic, though it's always seemed instinctual to me. I was sent to this world about two years ago to get to know it. When I asked about my family they told me there was no one left." She smiled, the first real smile since Corey broke the news. "If it's a very magical line, that would explain a lot. I'm very good with magic. Just didn't consider the line might be cursed."

"Cursed is an understatement. If its true, we're linked through Agatha Harkness - my grandmother. She approached Sorceress Supreme level, but had a very distinct tradition - witchcraft. She taught the Scarlet Witch. Unfortunately, witchcraft occasionally has its tolls. More to the point, she also was Nicholas Scratch's mother - powerful sorceror who sold his soul, became virtually a demon himself, and forced seven demons into people. He's kind of bounced in and out of hell now and then. His mother was one of his victims. If we are related, Mephisto will also likely take an eventual interest."

The taste of my magic has been seasoned with things Mephisto may not be able to track. In two years only a hellhound has cared that I'm different and only because I bring him hamburgers."
