Dragon Hunting
The sun was bright and the air was crisp with the hint of the cold that was to come with winter. It was the perfect day for hunting and it was exactly what Svalin had planned to do. She walked easily beside the others and was eager to find prey.

She had been awake with the dawn and had been anxious to go. Nine months of sitting around and doing little were past her and it was time to get back out there. The days since Solver's birth had been spent getting back in shape when she wasn't spending time with her family. Hours in the practice yard with anyone who would spar with her and miles of running. She was a bit determined to get back into top shape as quickly as possible.

A bow was in her hand and Vigfrior at her side. She would have loved to bring Tryggvi, but horses and her brother didn't get along well so they walked. Svalin didn't mind. It would only help her get back in top shape.

	The hesitation was almost inevitable, her first battle, her first life and death situation. It didn't last one when it was very clear her enimies had no such hesitation as she ducked a blow before driving her sword deep into the gut of one of the dark elves, suddenly taken abback by how much force it initially took...and then how the blade simply slid in. Iona has certainly seen Halbjorn at court. Now, he's almost a different person. The talk is gone, and even his eyes seem less intelligent, replaced with a feral gleam. His smile is savage, the rush of battle, the rush of pain, the smell of blood - his own and others, driving him into the midst of the dark elves, forcing them to turn their blades and attention on him, leaving wide openings for the tactically minded and the archer.

He'll hurt for it later - but that's his job.

Kael pushed savagely onward against his murderous kin. The aid of the Aesir had proven integral as they were quickly falling back.

"Retreat! Return to Lord Malekith! We'll kill the halfbreed another day!" Those that could still run did while others used magic to transport themselves away.

Kael breathed heavily for a moment. He eyed the four Aesir who had come to his aid, and while still suspicious, he sheathed his blade as a goodwill gesture. "I am not used to receiving aid from your people, but you have my gratitude regardless. My thanks." He backed up so he could sit on a large stone.

Halbjorn was not far enough gone to be truly in bear-sark mode, but he's still calming. He remembers who his friends are enough that he just whirls, not snapping or threatening. Still, he's clearly still worked up after the battle, and bearing a dozen small wounds.

"Aye..." he agrees, before his eyes follow the path of retreat again as he almost spits the word, "Cowards."

	"Not overmuch." He groaned as if his wounds wished to contradict his statement. "I'd be fine to walk, but..." It hurts his pride to admit the following. 	"If thou wouldst allow me to touch thee?" Svalin asked. She could heal him and there wouldn't be a need to stop. She didn't trust dark elves and one in Asgard disturbed her to the core. She wanted to see him back in his own realm as soon as possible. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"It ist random at best," Svalin said. She looked at her brother. The weight of the decision pressed down on her at that moment. They could follow the renegades and slay them like they deserve or they could make sure the prince of the dark elves was returned safely. While she wanted to chase after the cowards and slay them as would be fitting for trespass into Asgard, her mind told her to go with the second option.

"Nay, brother. We wilt see the prince of Svartalfheim safely to his realm."
