Anya stood at the corner across from the Thunderbolts HQ waiting for the light to change and the crosswalk signal to come on. She held a paper bag that contained a few containers of Indian food in it since she worked through dinner. A few hours in the lab and Martin's laptop had been modified in order for him to be able to use it. Now it was time to eat and get back to the dozen things she had to read for Ren Tech. After calling her parents and wishing them a happy anniversary and see how they liked her gift. They had been married for three years. Who would have thunk it?

The light changed and Anya crossed Hampshire street. She reached the other side and reached for the door handle of the entrance to the renovated firehouse that served as the TBotls HQ. The blow she didn't see coming hit her on the back of the head and blackness enveloped her.

A large man caught the body before it fell to the ground and picked her up as if she were nothing more than a doll. He put her over his shoulder and walked off into the night.

The next day a picture and a note was delivered to Xavier's Institute For Higher Learning addressed to Misha Romanov.

Alpha Flight had indeed come to the rescue and picked Misha up with the remaining kidnapped mutants. They'd contacted the institute and Misha had been picked up in borrowed sweats, with any of the prisoners from Weapon X that wanted a new start at Xavier's.

He managed to get away during the examinations, healing from frostbite and other effects from being half naked in the cold, and into the city to check on Anya. She was the reason he'd been there in the first place. The mission wasn't over until he'd seen her alive and okay for himself.

"Pretty sure I don't need to hear about it either," he said from the doorway. His face still showed the effects of the fight and cold, but other than that he was okay.

"You're never safe from us. I still owe you big time for Darlene." He put a hand on her shoulder to squeeze. "I'm still going to raise hell with your security. They should have least realized you were gone. What good are they if they can't even perform the basic function?" He conveniently didn't mention that his security hadn't known he was gone, either.

"As expected, my armor was trashed by somebody's shock treatment." He made an exaggerated 'it was HER!' head motion in Toni's direction. "Any chance a new suit can be insulated against it?"
