"Come on," Alex said. "You can use the restroom in here." Alex opened the door to the pub and held it open for Mason. Mason was underage to drink, but not to use the restroom. Besides, Alex was thirsty and could grab a soda while Mason took care of business.

And the bar promptly empties, beardy and his friend screaming as they run off.

Mason, on the other hand, runs for the bathroom. "Thank you, Alex!"

Mason is still shaking water off his hands and buttoning his jeans when he comes bolting out of the bathroom again, the two of them heading out of the bar before police show up.

Mason is relieved to find that the bracelet is intact, along with the bookmark with increment conversions (for cooking) printed on it that he'd gotten for Alex to give to Mel.

"Awesome.." He grins at the transformation, and climbs on.
