Hartley, Texas
The small town of Hartley, Texas was not much more than a wide spot in the road that was situated about an hour northwest of Amarillo. The town was small and the surrounding area consisted of mostly ranches and farms and nothing special ever happened in Hartely.

Until a meteorite burned across the west Texas night sky and landed just outside the town on property belonging to one Martin Reynolds. Martin promptly hauled the meteor into town in his pickup. The townspeople all gathered around to see the hunk of space debris that had crashed to Earth.

The strange space rock was put in the center of town and over the next few days it was the center of the talk of the town and the focus of their attention.

Kal ducked to avoid the thrown mutated townspeople. She grabbed them with TK and put them on the ground. Sure they were probably quite a bit tougher than a normal human, but Kal wasn't going to hurt them if she could prevent.

She took a second to pick her next move and decided on a two prong attack.

She unleashed another blast of energy, this one as intense as she could make it. While the energy blasts shot toward her opponent, Kal started to form an illusion around the woman.

The woman would start to see other Avengers coming at her giving her targets other than Kal.

Enforcer may be a thug, but she isn't stupid. Nor is she slow. The townspeople thing was all part of a plan - because the TK thing takes time. Especially since the townspeople aren't happy about this whole thing.

She's also not just standing still doing nothing while the Eternal TKs the people, blasts, and starts her illusions. She's in position to leap out of the way of the blast, and tears up most of a house to fling at Kal while she's just setting up her next move.

Kal flew to the side to get out of the line of the thrown house. Her concentration on the illusion was not broken by the thrown object and she kept up the construct. Avengers came at Enforcer from different directions and Kal even added Buck carrying his father's shield. He threw it at her and if she thought it hit, she would feel it.

She's not any more worried about Cap, let alone Cap Jr., and his shield than her mom would be. The shield bounces off - and seeing as she knows the Avengers are fighting her team, dealing with the townsfolk, and not just ganging up on her - and she knows from past experience that the Eternal is an illusionist, she assumes its an illusion, and just takes the stinging shots, barreling through fake Avengers to tear up something big enough to be very hard to dodge, lobbing most of the side of a building, and then a town bus at Kal in rapid succession.

Time for drastic measures with a large chunk of building and a bus coming at her. Kal teleported, not her favorite thing to do, to a spot right behind Enforcer.

She unleashed a point blank shot of intensely hot cosmic energy.

McKenzie goes flying from the point blank shot, ending up in a crater at the end of a furrow, smoldering.

She's the heaviest of the heavyweights on the Masters, though. She's traded hits with the big leaguers - her parents fought gods. While obviously hurt, she gets back up, looking every bit as much ticked off as hurt.

"You're going to pay for that, Eternal."

"Whatever you do to me, I'll get back up and come back at you," Kal said. She could take a lot more than Enforcer and live. "Didn't you ever see Highlander?"

Kal created the illusion that she took to the air and was flying toward Enforcer. In reality she was standing still.

"Eventually. After what you did to Cady, I actually looked it up. Even your big guns have been taken down by people below my weight class." she replies with a sneer, moving to meet the apparent charge with a swinging fist.

"I can't /kill/ you, bitch, but that's fine. It'll still take you a while to heal after I tear your fucking arms off."

She can bow to some reality, and stop with the death threats, but if she can get toe to toe, short of Eternal bodily reconstruction, she can punch it out with almost anyone.

Kal knew she wouldn't be able to go toe to toe with this woman. She wasn't much of a hand to hand combatant and for an Eternal she wasn't as durable or powerful as Ikaris, Iason or Gilgamesh.

She made the illusion Kal react and move with the hit to keep up the illusion.

She unleashed another blast of energy at the woman. Kal could feel her energy levels starting to drop and knew she wouldn't have too many more blasts left inside of her.

The latter two would get McKenzie on experience - but she might be able to go toe to toe with Iason. It'd be a tough fight.

Kal - fights smarter, in many ways, than any of them. As long as the illusion is realistic, Creel keeps at it, swinging away. The blast sends her rocking back, just convincing her all the more of the need to keep pounding on 'Kal'.

Not dumb - but she has her parents' focus, or lack thereof sometimes.

Kal kept the illusion going and reacting. The illusion was hit a few times and each time reacted as if the blows were landing and hurting her.

The real Kal held back on blasts and instead tried to get into Enforcer's mind. Once in she could control the woman and get her to stop fighting.

McKenzie has a fairly strong will, or perhaps just a headstrong one, but no real mental defenses. Eventually, Kal will be able to get in enough to, at minimum, see the Masters' real plan... McKenzie, much as she would /like/ to tear the Eternal apart right now, isn't there to beat anyone. She's there to occupy Kal as long as possible while others make off with the meteor... and given the time Kal has already spent TK'ing, setting up illusions, letting McKenzie beat on the illusionary her, and the blasts - odds are good they've already succeeded.

Kal wasn't surprised that Enforcer was a distraction, but Kal wasn't going to let her get away. This one would be sitting her ass in a prison cell by the time Kal was done with her. Hopefully.

"Sit down and stay," Kal ordered and exerted considerable force behind the orders.

She does it.

The problem is, unlike a lot of her team, she's fighting it. As long as Kal keeps some concentration there, she overcomes McKenzie's huge stubborn streak. That would definitely hold her for authorities. But she won't be able to both maintain it, and have much chance of trying to stop the getaway.

Kal will keep Enforcer right where she was. Kal trusted her team to stop the getaway. Only if there was an emergency would she release her control over Enforcer.
