Lightning Strikes
Stephen Remus sat in the office of his penthouse, smoking a cigarette as he looked out the window.

"You have your team. You ready for your first outing?" Remus asked the figure behind him.

"Yes," came the audibly distorted voice. "We know where they'll all be."

Remus takes another drag of his cigarette before responding. "Good. You've all been practicing, let's see how you do against the real thing. Good hunting."

The sound of metallic boots are heard leaving as the figure goes to announce the mission's start.

Kelly makes a trade off. She catches the 'frisbee', suffering two broken fingers and a couple dislocated knuckles in the process. Not as bad as it could have been, if still more work for her healing factor. That's one hand less to shoot with as well.

The primary upside is that it gives her a shield, so her dodge is actually a feint, letting the woman come in behind her projectile, trying to slam the manhole cover into the oncoming cyborg to use her own momentum against her, and display her own very mild super strength.

The move succeeds, while the manhole stings a little, it's actually Ajax's own momentum combined with Kelly's strike that sends her through the front window of a nearby shop. Ajax shakes her head, standing up. It's then she realizes her neck is slightly crooked. She takes her head in hand and snaps it back into place.

"Slick," Ajax admits, walking back through the hole she'd made. "Let's up the ante." She crosses her arms in front of her chest as twin blades extend from each arm. "Here's your attachments. Let me get up close and show you how they work." Ajax noted that her servos would need a moment to recharge, so she'd be operating at half-speed for the moment. She comes at Kelly, blades swinging.

"Ooohhhh, knifeplay. I like it. If you weren't trying to kill me, I'd be tempted to ask you out. I'm kind of tempted anyway."

Kelly keeps the manhole. The way her still-healing fingers are twisted, she's not sure she could easily drop it. The other gun is re-holstered, and she draws a bowie knife from her boot.

She deflects the first blade swing with the manhole cover, noting the dense metal taking a deep slash - impressive cyber blades, and likely to make her shield not worth much very much longer.
The other blade cuts across her shoulder, drawing blood. She steps into that swing, trying to bury her knife under the woman's armpit while its left exposed due to her swing.

	Before Ajax can reply, Kelly knife goes into Ajax's armpit. Ajax screams as a combination of blood and circuittry sparks are revealed. However, instead of shying away, she took advantage by attempting to lock her wounded arm around Kelly's blade hand in order to keep it locked while Ajax's free hand went to skewer her. Kelly gets her hand grabbed first, and then a blade through the gut. There's a moment of surprise - and then a bloody grin. Most of the people she fights aren't down and dirty enough to go for the gut wound.

Skewered and at close quarters, she uses the fact she's spitting up blood to spit that blood at Ajax's eyes. That's followed by a headbutt towards the woman's nose, which looks soft and squishy enough, and finally, if the headbutt connects, she tries to bring the damaged manhole cover up under the cyborg's chin, hard.

Ajax hadn't been expecting that as the blood blinded her optical senors. Before her internal ocular systems could work on cleaning up the blood in her eyes, Kelly's head slams into her nose. The nose itself is mostly artificial synthflesh, and the disorientation usually associated with a broken nose did not apply to Ajax. However the blow did jerk her head back enough to give Kelly a chance to connect with the manhole cover. The strike drove Ajax to let go and fumble back, causing her blade to retract from Kelly. Ajax's chin looked twisted and bent, and a chunk of synthflesh was torn off to reveal bits of a skull laced with some kind of metal.

"I don't feel much in the way of pain, but you've caused more than most have." The blood around her eyes starting to gradually disappear and new flesh began to appear at the very tip of where Ajax's remaining facial flesh had been. She removed the knife from her armpit, and the skin began to do the same, albeit just as slowly. She glimpses at the knife and smirks as her power servos are nearly recharged. "Catch." And she suddenly flings the pocket knife back at Kelly.

Kelly does catch it. Right in the ribcage. She goes staggering back, flinging the manhole at Ajax's knee while her eyes are still clearing.

"Shame, you're missing out. Me? I feel pain all the time. So its saying something when I tell you this is at least a little more pain than my average date." she replies, while forcing the knife back out.

"I've got to admit - you have the killer instinct to make this fun. Most of our baddies... they just don't have it. You're also stronger than me, faster than me, more armored, and you heal... neat tricks."

A moment of coughing up a little more blood, making her grin through it really extra disturbing.

"But I know something you don't know."

	Ajax doesn't have the time to enjoy the success of her throw as the manhole collides with her knee, damaging the servo in it. Damn it! That would seriously hamper her running capabilities. She manages to stand back up, though the nanotech would take awhile to repair the knee damage. "Really? And what would that be?" (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Kelly grins. As her first injury, her legs are furthest along in healing - so slowing down was part of the point.

"When we were grappling there? You know, while you were stabbing me in the kidney? I totally felt you up. So, victory conditions achieved." she responds.

Oh yeah, and as she's trading banter, she drops a grenade. She doesn't have many. Not in her going-out-wear, but she tries not to go out totally without.

The hope is, if the woman has been watching her enough, she'll know of Kelly's tendency to beat some of the robots and other unkillable-with-bullets types with suicide bombing and dive for cover.

This is just tear gas. Which she figures won't do much for long to the cyborg. But it should cause her to adjust, maybe blur her vision and smoke up the area long enough for Kelly to duck down an alley, up a fire escape, and to the rooftops. She's not going to win this one out in the open in a fair fight. Time to get out of there until a less-fair opportunity presents itself.

	Ajax looks at Kelly annoyed before she notices the grenade. "Damn!" She moves to dodge the explosion by leaping behind a car..only to realize that it was tear gas. At first she's angry, but then chuckles a bit. "Well played you crazy bitch." (Reply to this)(Parent)
