Midnight Munchies (The Family Version)
In the Life According to Wong, young sorcerers are known for two things. Misbehaving magic and the inability to stay full for very long.

Correction - three things. The worst timing and problems with boundaries of all sorts.

All right, so that's four. Young sorcerers weren't big on logic.

It was the second reason that had Marlow up in the middle of the night checking her tiny kitchen for chocolate or pretzels, or even kale chips if it stopped her stomach from rumbling. She tried to be quiet so she wouldn't disturb Martin in the guest room. It looked like they'd managed to clean everything out of the cupboards during their movie marathon.

	It hurts too! She shook it out because that's what Svalin would do. Svalin wouldn't have said ow in the first place, but Marlow was still working on it. Careful! Maybe we should let the cloaking spell go until we see what's in the fridge? (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	That's a good idea! They're all asleep anyways. Martin nods invisibly then removes the cloaking spell so they can actually see their limbs for once. It'll be easier to eat this way too! (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Oh darn, they'd dropped the cloaking spell too soon! "Uh, hi! I'm Marlow." She tried to look as non threatening as possible and put her hands behind her back. Darn, they'd been so sneaky up till this point too!

Martin gave a friendly smile and a tip of his hat. He looked even younger than Marlow and the combination of pyjama pants, a too large shirt borrowed from Orlen along with the fancy hat and gloves didn't exactly serve to give a very threatening impression. Which was good this time. "Hello! We're looking for chicken."

"Right!" Marlow beamed at him for understanding.

"We have Asgardians and Argo's half brother. They're all tanks when they want to be." Marlow shrugged a little. "I'm the magic. Well, me and Aslief. She's good but she has other things she does. I just have the Defenders. And Martin and Orlen when they need me."

Napkins appeared. No reason not to be neat about it in somebody else's kitchen.

Eric just looks more than a little confused.

"I suppose it helps when everyone can tank in different ways," Eric says. Being able to absorb all kinds of energy definitely helped.

"I think we have four people who can tank on our team. Argo and me definitely. Nick can when he goes all flaming skull head and Jenny can in her own way. Cory can do some cool earth stuff. Rose is an expert martial artist. Irina is really good at fighting and her portal stuff.

Marlow made a face at Martin. "I mean for work, not for recreation. That's when you might need me and I would come to help you."

"I met Irina at one of the Avenger parties. She seemed nice and her portals are fun. I didn't need a portal because I can take myself anywhere I need to go, even different dimensions. I don't know Nick very well. He's my cousin but I don't think he likes having family very much." She shrugged. "Everybody is different. Hey, do you guys have a cat?"

At the mention of Nick, Martin pipes up and grins over at Marlow. "Maybe we can invite him on an adventure so he can see that family is fun? Oh and yes, do you have a cat too? Marlow has kittens, we're putting spells on their collars."
