A Chilly Fall Afternoon (open)
The Ides of October found Cait in the kitchen at Xavier's baking various types of cookies and even a few pies. The Ides weren't something they celebrated here in the States, but back home they still kept a few of the traditions alive by celebrating. The Ides of October were always her least favorite. The chariot race was always fun, but the slaughtering of the October Horse was not and Cait hated it.

This year instead of watching a horse get killed, she was in the kitchen baking.

	"The grocery store had basics, like flour, sugar, bread... about three fourths of the time. But only restocked once a month. Otherwise, it was mostly ramen and honey nut cheerios. Usually, the people in Nova Roman willing to put on some pants and go into Querencia and such places had a pretty easy trip of it. ...Of course, a lot of times during the summer, it's our immediate family. Everyone knows I need my shade-grown chocolate bars -- for some reason, Grandad Lucius won't suggest that any growing space get set aside for that -- and would give a list."
