Looking For Trouble (open to Champions)
Vincent strolled down the streets of New Orleans. It had been years since he'd been in the city. Sure, all the super teams had done their part in helping with recovery efforts, but he'd never seen the city as unspoiled as now. Hm. City. It didn't seem like the right word. It was more like a town that just stretched on and on. It was charming, that way. Food, alcohol, and people. Even without demigod senses anymore the air was rich with smells; it didn't smell badly, just enormously. And there was music. Music just about everywhere. It was a nice place to take it easy.

Of course, he wasn't there to take it easy. He'd picked up the trail of something during one of his meditations, headed from New York towards this city. Nothing so heavy on the mystical scale of things that he felt like he needed to alert Strange or Mistress Jennifer, or sound an alert, but just... something there. He'd grabbed his general gear and followed in pursuit of it. He hadn't been out in the field on his own enough lately, so a tracking expedition was certainly something he could use. Honestly, he was glad for the diversion. He'd been feeling stagnant as of late. Sure, school was progressing nicely, and he was even starting to make peace with his duties as the heir to Latveria, but he'd still been unable to shake the feeling that he was still just following a course someone else had set out for him.

Maybe... maybe it was time for something else.

His introspection is halted by a string of shrill squeals from a nearby bar with a 'Ladies Night' banner over the door. A bit off the pitch he'd expect for just drunken partying. Harmless but ridiculously bright bolts of green and blue light start hurtling out the windows and swinging front doors. He set his jaw and ran for the door, only to get bowled over by a sudden tide of humanity pouring out from it. He was completely blindsided, and ended up knocked on his rear. He caught site of the people fleeing. Each of them had something changed in their eyes. One green, one blue, devoid of any features. The partiers started going mad up and down the street. Senseless damage, tearing of clothes, and all manner of singing and screaming. Not malicious, but overwhelmingly vast, and spreading.

"...Oh Hel..." He knew what it was now, and he was going to need backup to contain them all.

Vincent hastily drops the barriers now out of reach of the riot and tries to create a tighter area, even as the riot crashes into the Champions' property (unbeknownst to him) like a wave hitting the beach. They're going to tear their surroundings to shreds before too long, and who knows what they're doing to each other in the meantime. He's not sure what to do. He can't put them all to sleep at once, and if he can only do isolated pockets at a time, those still moving will trample those who aren't.

Biting his lip, he throws himself into the fray, calling upon Sigyn. He starts dispelling the riot magic from those he touches, then pushing them out through the barrier walls. He's not sure how long he can keep this up, however. Calling upon Tyr for strength would mean dropping the barriers, which is still out of the question.

Vincent turns to stare, incredulously, at... oh blast, he forgets his name, but he recognizes him from some heroic something or other. "What? NO! Of course not! They've been infected by a magical contagion! I can remove it from them, but it'll be a lot easier if they're not all trying to beat or screw each other senseless!"

He jumps out of the fray for a few moments, sighting the apparent friendlies and giving them leave to enter the barriers. "If you're here to help, have at it and get in here!"

	"He'd never forgive you if you didn't," Jenny said to Eric. "We better get in there. If nothing else, between Irina's portal and plain knocking them out should help." 	Argo was... uncomfortable fighting mind controlled people. He could not use his prodigious strength, and he had no wish to harm someone who did not deserve it. Instead, he settled for breaking open a fire hydrant and using his powerful hands to direct the spray, pushing people out of the way of harming themselves or his friends. As the riot starts to get dispersed and/or subdued, Vincent has more room to work. He manages to fly over the crowd and call up a stronger spell. "By the grace of Idunn of the Orchard, guided by the hand of Sigyn of Victories and this unworthy vessel, I see you, contagion! And I cast you out from these afflicted!" Calling on healing and abjuration is a reasonably compatible combination of his patrons, and the invocation resonates strongly.

The effects of the magic are leeched from the rioters like poison from a wound, flying in globules of light up to Vincent's outstretched hand. He begins pouring the coalesced energy into a large flask produced from his pack. It doesn't take long before he puts a stopper in it, as the last of the rioters are drained of the magic, now left only with any fading rushes of adrenaline. He descends slowly to the ground, feeling the strain of the latest invocation and all the barriers he had to put up already.

	Jenny pointed the obviously unharmed women in Argo's direction and moved through the crowd opposite of Irina to make sure they were okay. Most were only wet, some were bleeding but all seemed basically fine and confused. Well, join the club. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
