Manny was a little surprised at the custom-made chair, but quickly felt flattered for being considered. Manny happily took his spot beside Bea. He heard Laz' conversation with Kelly, but had no idea what a De Lisle was. He chose to embarrass himself by asking about it.

"Si, Bea. Gracias." Manny carefully, maybe more carefully than he had to, took the pitcher and poured himself a drink.

"I just have the 11-shot clips. Better than seven, anyway; I'm not as quick with my hands as Bea; I don't have time to put the new ones in all the time. No dragonsbreath. I like the beechwood. Sure, it's harder on accuracy since my powers don't swing to help, but it still feels right. Mind control. I'm pretty good, but it's not something you can rely on."

"Very true," Bea says.

Cable nods as he sits down once everyone has a plate of food. "So, Manny, you used to be in the UCWF?"

Bea's torn between groaning at Kelly and being happy that Manny's calming down. The latter's more important. It's not that she didn't know that Kelly was going to be Kelly.

Laz is going to blink and... try not to think abou the insinuations 'cause Bea's right there and she has a boyfriend which doesn't really .... back to the topics at hand. "Yeah, but outside of the family, for crowd safety stuff and all, very handy. Except for, you know, the whole part with y'know, the labs and the people trying to kill me... but the mumbling comes short with a "Really? Dom, can I?"

"...If you're very careful, and remember it's just for fun and not going to be tactically useful all that often."

"Great, thanks." He grins at Kelly.

"Can't say I have very high hopes about that sort of commercialization of mutant -- Fire hazard, Dom." Cable interrupts himself.
"Nate, he's fifteen. We let Bea use similar materials by that age."
"Fine."

Nate nods. "It figures. Sorry to hear." He doesn't seem to press further.

Kelly sighs. Laz looks rather taken aback by this train of thought, but just says. "Well, I'll definitely appreciate the help with the dragonsbreath after dessert, thanks."

Dom's been mostly sitting back and just observing this whole thing, but does say. "Dessert, yes. I hope you don't have any food allergies, Manny?"

"Very glad to hear it," Cable says simply.

"Then if everyone's making headway on their food, and since Nate cooked, I'll go get the pizza."

And Laz's big blue eyes light up as his sister goes, and comes back with what, upon inspection, will be a giant, pizza-pan-sized sugar cookie, spread with cream cheese (or something approximating it) and crushed pineapple and covered in various other native Providence fruits and a little whipped cream.

"Uncle Laz, you've got good taste in birthday desserts," Bea says happily as she helps cut things up for everyone.

"Wait, seriously? Bea has two knives, a two shot upgraded derringer, and a light pistol in a thigh holster. Geez, do you not feel up your girlfriend? My mom has the usual bootknife, an extendable toe-blade just in case of capture or getting tired of bondage, two light throwing blades under her hair, the concealed pistol referred to, a cleavage pistol, plus light explosives in her low heels and belt buckle. Which says nothing of what Cable is packing... you'd have to ask Mom about that, outside of the cyber-holster.... oh damn... I almost missed the garrotte in the jewelry too... sorry Mom."
