One of a Kind
The Collector was always searching for unique and unusual items to add to his personal collection. He had numerous worlds filled with items he had collected over the eons. His attention had wandered away from Earth for awhile, but that changed. Now something unique caught his eye and he was determined to add it to his collection.

He landed on the front porch of the Defenders' compound. He blasted the door into oblivion and walked into the building.

	Marlow was rarely included in the others' outings that didn't involve missions and had been in New Orleans eating Corey's chicken and hoping to get a line on a voodoo princess. She arrived back just after the others. The sight of a sword unsheathed prompted her to create duplicates to loosely ring the compound before she made herself known. "What's wrong?" 	Vernique will probably be found first, as she regains consciousness slowly, but sooner than Brandr considering that she doesn't have his injuries. That and she will be keening fairly loudly the minute she remembers why she's on the ground. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Svalin saw Halbjorn pick her wife up off of the ground and vaulted off of Tryggvi. She drew Vigfrior as she ran over. "What hath happened? Who ist responsible for this? Where ist Solver? Where ist Brandr?" (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Halbjorn is familiar with the Elders through father's stories, mostly of his dealings with the Champion and the Possessor - but he knows there's more of them. "By Odin's beard," Svalin swore. She took her wife's hand and gave it a squeeze. "Worry not, milady. We wilt find Solver and return him to thee." The "Or die trying" didn't need to be said. Svalin hoped she sounded confident. Worry sank into her when Vernique mentioned an Elder of the Universe.

"Asleif! Start finding mine son," Svalin growled. "Defenders, prepare for a journey into space."

	Brandr had managed to half stagger and half drag himself from where he'd first fallen, trying to follow the intruder, but had lost consciousness at the side door leading outside. The trail of blood from the room full of destruction where the initial confrontation had been made him easy enough to find. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	The skald remaind silent, quickly picking up the trail of blood after seeing that Vernique was alive, the blood making finding Brandr...convienantly easy, quickly kneeling down when she found his prone form, "Be still warrior.....thy friends are at hand." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Kael goes to the wounded Brandyr, quickly beginning some battlefield patchwork to stabilize him until he could be seen by the Defenders' doctor. Kael had heard of the Elders of the Universe and knew they were in for a fierce battle. However, he did not let this trouble him. He had failed to help Solver once when malekith took him, he wouldn't again.

"How do we find this Elder?"

Asleif went to work, weaving her spells. As the Goddess of Secrets and Deception, she had been putting more and more of her efforts into spells for diving the truth and revealing that which was hidden, along with her illusions and transfiguration magics, on top of her already impressive array of spells.

"Reveal yourself to me... Show me where mine nephew hast been hidden... Let that which is not known, become known to mine eyes..."

Kael easily picks up Brandr, not worrying about the man's dignity. "Thank you Asleif, but it's no trouble." Kael carries Brandr over to Svalin. "Do we know anything of what this Collector is capable of? I have read of the Elders of the Universe, they are mighty beings. It would perhaps be best to retrieve Solver and leave quickly. Better to seek retribution when the prince is safe."

	Brandr's left side and arm are a bloody mess from the close range blasts that left flesh seared and bloody. The same for his back. There are other injuries from being backhanded into the wall a few times but it's the blasts that have done the most damage. Regardless of how well it works, some healing magic is better than none, and clearly needed in this case. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
