Things of Nightmares
Svalin woke to find herself lying on the ground. She blinked. What had happened? The last thing she remembered was being attacked. She didn't see the attacker, but the world went black and she woke up here. Where was here?

Svalin pulled herself to her feet and looked around.

The world was desolate and had been destroyed at some point. Where in Hel was she and what had happened?

Eiltin kept on running around at high speeds fighting and taking down the creatures of darkness with his spear. He was currently having a lot of fun with this.

Grabbing some of the fire and lightning arrows, Frances picked off creatures as to drive them back. She eyed a coffee shop's patio awning and climbed up on it. Boy, there was a lot of these things.

He kept concentrating the blasts in killing or sending them all back where they came from. Most where getting killed off one by one. He caught a family teleported them away then got back back into the fight.

Toni unleashed another volley of electric blasts from above, trying to keep an eye out for anything else.

"We need to be doing more than this. This is just crowd control. Orlen! Can you find the source?"

More and more nightmare creatures filled the streets of Los Angeles. The attacks were non-stop.

"Sorry I'm late," Emily apologized, sinking a cutlass into the back of one of the nightmare creatures. She had a cutlass and each hand, and one gripped at the end of her tail. Without skipping a beat, Emily dove into the battle and kept close to any stray innocents that needed protecting.

He fell to his knees looking at his hands his eyes were slowly getting blurry. "what the hell...why do I feel...I feel so tiered." he held his head rubbing his eyes. These things...they where having an affection him. He put a barrier when one came charging at him.

"Back-up! Ask and ye shall receive, people. And come on, they wouldn't need us if this was a cake walk," Frances cajoled and drew arrow after arrow. Even with Emmeline, they weren't making a big enough dent on the trouble. And their magic guy was going down faster. Which totally cinch this was a magic-based problem. "Strange, fall back and just pinpoint the source for us. We need to plug this up fast."

More and more nightmarish creatures flooded the streets. Across the city Nightmare rode his horse through the streets. After a bit of searching Orlen could find the portal where the creatures were coming out of.

Toni let out several wide blasts, stopping occasionally to siphon a little more juice off the city's power grid.

He fell back, He new something was dark something old and something damn near primordial. He nearly limped away crawling using what bit of power he had left to search for the portal. "I-I found it!" He called out. He shot a small beam at France's He was hoping it hit her glasses which if it did. It would give her a direct map to the portal.

"Once you find it...the spell on your glasses will go They'll fade off!" He didn't want to do it but he had to suck the magic from on of the creatures. "Yuk..Hate doing that!"

Mike grabbed a creature that looked like a flying monkey from the Wizard of Oz and smashed it into a building.

Frances got knocked off-course by the spell, but luckily, there were enough targets that she didn't really miss. "Woah, uh, guys? Head that way," she called out and pointed towards where the magic spectacles indicated.

He wasn't sure if anyone besides Frances was even hearing him. He squinted as he looked deeper. Looking into the portal Orlen saw Halbjorn fighting and Aridis being held nearby. "Hey guys...I think there is one of ours in that portal!"

Toni zapped another creature, zooming closer toward the portal.

"Mama always said never jump headlong into portals if you don't know where they're going," she muttered. "But I think we might have to make an exception."

The number of nightmarish creatures in the streets was increasing. They were coming toward the battle from other areas of the city.

Nightmare still hadn't show up in this area.

"I'll stay here and protect more civilians," Emily said as she cut through two nightmarish creatures. The entire team couldn't just abandon the people on the streets of LA that were being attacked, and Emily wasn't sure which of her teammates were going to opt to stay on this side of the portal.

"They can't all protect themselves."
