The Camping Trip
Argo had called up, somewhat thrilled about going on another trip. Then again, anything seemed to excite Argo or make him wish to adventure these days! Dolemeck was a bit hesitant to go, as EVERY adventure he went on with Argo led to some misadventure or chaos breaking out. But this one sounded... normal. They would rent some horses and go to Montana for a camping trip. No monsters, no crazy ex-girlfriends, no strippers... just camping with the guys. It sounded so normal, Dolemeck had to pinch himself to see if he was having a dream.

Being as this was so normal, Dolemeck did not tell Tyler. Besides, he was a grown man and did not need to tell him everything anymore, right? He left a note on the fridge that he would be gone for a few days, and that he left Tyler a few cooked meals as an act of kindness (and because eating out was expensive). Dolemeck even managed to get time off of work as a barista and model to be able to go on this little adventure, so there was not a single loose end.

Upon his arrival in Montana, Dolemeck waited for Argo's plane to arrive. After-all, he knew where they were going!

Argo frowned. "The rest of my life is... eternal, Dolemeck. And I have made amazing friends in this world, whom I hope to remember all my days, even when they are naught but dust.

"But the heart is a fragile thing, even for a god. If were to give away my heart, even a lifetime becomes the blink of an eye.. And I would remain eternally as a I am, while the passage of time goes on. T'would not be fair... and far too heartbreaking when they did pass.

"So I live my life in the moment, in the now. I take my pleasures, and share a few treasured moments with many. It makes me happy, and it brings happiness to others. I can think of far worse ways to spend eternity."

"It's a call just for them to come over and bang," he said casually to Dolomeck, though he couldn't say he agreed with Dol about the whole making bonds thing. Nothing wrong with Argo sleeping around, the god had the right philosophy on life to an extent. Live in the moment, live for enjoyment too. That's how he planned on doing it, and hell, it was his favourite thing about Argo.

"Sorry, not sorry, Dol. I'm with him on the live in the moment and make yourself happy. Long life ahead, enjoy the hell out of it. Because you're the one who makes yourself happy, you can't exactly expect others to give you happiness if you can't do it for yourself." Phil sat back and idly turned his stick around to inspect his hotdog, blowing out a small flame on the end he intentionally let happen.

"Hey, Argo? Got any extras roasting on yours?"

"Family is just important to me, Phil. I always wanted one of my own. To settle down, raise a few children with a wife, grow old, and then watch as my family starts families of their very own." He shrugged his shoulders.

"Living in the here and now mentality does not work for me. I live over a thousand years just going day to day. Forgive me if it sounds greedy, but I want more out of my life. I want to spend the rest of my days with someone I love dearly." He carefully removed the chicken from the makeshift roaster, and then placed it on a plate.

"I will never age, never experience what it is like to truly grow old. Despite that small quip, I am still mortal, and I still desire that dream." He starts carving up the chicken with a knife he took with him from the kitchen.

"Now then, who wants some chicken?"

"I think I can spare one," Argo assured Phil. "Especially with some chicken to make up for it."

He shook his head. "As I said, I value my friendships deeply. But I hear my father's sadness when he speaks of his mortal wives. I do not know that I could bear to mourn so."

Phil shrugged. "My brothers are immortal too. That's enough for me. But Dol, you seem to be forgetting. We don't age or grow old either, you're brooding at people who have that too."

"Perfect, Argo." He pointed his stick at Dolomeck. "So how are we serving the chicken? Want to stick it on here?"

"Perhaps you are right, Phil. I am sorry I upset everyone. Perhaps we should talk of something more up-beat?"

He places some pieces of chicken on plates. A leg, wig, and piece of meat for Argo and Phil, and the rest for him. Dolemeck just picked up what was left of the chicken and took a bite out of it.

"Real men do not use utensils to eat their chicken." He grinned up at Argo and Phil as he just tore into that chicken with his somewhat sharpened teeth.

That got a pleasant chuckle out of Argo, as he took a bite out of one of his hot dogs.

"We might make a manly man out of you yet, Dolemeck!"

For once he was thankful about the lack of pop culture knowledge his companions had. No impromptu Mulan-inspired karaoke after that line.

Phil speared through his chicken with a black construct claw he'd made on one hand and ate it off there. "Still got a lot of work to do on that front, but this is a start," he smirked.
