Invasion of Seattle
Ophelia had planned this thoroughly ever since her surviving children had told her of what had befallen the others in the city. She could see that with this group of supernatural hunters, as well as the arrival of the vampire lord, Theodoric, that Seattle was about to become an important fixture in underworld politics. Whoever held it would be in a position of tremendous power. Though perhaps more importantly, the men her servants had described could potentially create a brood of daughters the likes of which neither vampire or human could stand against. Yes..this was far too tempting an opportunity to pass up.

It started early into the night, and happened almost as soon as it had begun. Ophelia had a small of followers infiltrate Seattle bit by bit until they were indistinguishable from the mortal population. At the exact moment, several known vampire lairs were suddenly attacked by disguised tryks. The smaller populations were slaughtered instantly in the initial surprise while the larger ones were decimated and trying to hold back the attackers in the boughs of their lairs with superior firepower.

In the news it looked almost as if some kind of gang warfare was going on. A nightclub, an office building, and a motel. Police had the areas cordoned off, though all attempts for them to enter the buildings had resulted in bloody deaths.

Marie was very curious as to where Greg was. She had been at the bar for awhile now, making sure nothing happened to the place while he was gone.

Jo had helped herself to a beer, but the absence of the guys was starting to worry herself as well. "So, no word from any of them? Dolemeck alone going missing wouldn't be weird, but Tyler and Greg both had lives going on. Greg was a business owner, for goodness' sake.

"Is. I'm sure they're still alive," Rita said firmly. She bites her lower lip in thought.

"He and I have tracking devices on us. I said our lives are a little weird so...."

Yeah. It's not creepy to do that at all. "I wanted to be sure we could find each other if something happened."

"It's a GPS chip that's hidden in a bracelet for me. His is a leather arm band," Rita explains. She hadn't wanted to go too effeminate for Tyler.

"I mean for Tyler. Not Greg, by the way." She shrugs. "Sorry I wasn't clear enough."

Marie paused for a moment.

"I'd like to have a secondary measure for finding them just in case," she said. "Even if the tracking device is hidden, professionals would be cautious enough to remove all clothes during a kidnapping. Do you have any of Tyler's personal belongings with you?"

"Yeah. I borrowed one of his shirts. I think some of his hair on it, if that'll help?" She cocks her head thoughtfully. Yeah. It totally would. Go magical theory. She might only be good at alchemy but she knows enough of the basic rules to figure a few things out.

"Just a minute." She goes to fetch the shirt.

She chuckled at the mention of hair. For certain practices, that was perfect. Maybe Marie would keep those hairs just as a precaution. But the shirt was all she actually needed.

"Yes, that will do."

"I'd like to combine the efforts," Marie said. "If one should fail, the other may prove itself."

She accepted the shirt and briefly retreated to the room Greg had let her use. When she returned, she had an assortment of items that she would use for the ritual. Among these items, she had some candy and some coconut.

"First we will need to move some tables," she said.

Rita figures that Marie is right.

"Tables. Right." She gets up and starts to move them around getting things out of the way. It shouldn't take too long to clear some space.

When there was a clear space, Marie set up her ritual. The candy (white was all white) and the coconut she'd gathered were placed in the center as an offering. The shirt was also there. She began her incantations and briefly convened with Papa Legba.

The offerings to give Papa Legba were always obscure, and usually he would make requests of those who needed his help beyond granting permission to communicate with the other Loa. But Marie held favor with most of the Loa, and she had learned over the years what offerings she could give him for small requests.

The exchange was made, and Papa Legba granted Marie her request. As long as she held Tyler's shirt in her possession, she would be guided to his location.

It's not too long after Marie concludes her spell that a limousine pulls up in front of the bar. A short, stocky pale man and a tall, thin brunette man of similar complexion stepped out and walked into the bar.

"Miss Dermont," the tall one greeted. "It has been some time. Our master wishes to invite you and your colleagues to his domicile to discuss a mutual problem."

Rita holds up a hand. Don't worry guys she knows these guys.

"It has." Not long enough. "Of course. It's good of him to extend such a polite offer."

She looks at Jo and Marie. "I know their Master. We'll be.... safe. He keeps his word and he will help, I think. This effects him. Having back up would really be good if he knows what's going on."

Marie stopped when Rita put her hand up. She'd already started to react, but she trusted Rita on this.

She grabbed Tyler's shirt.

"Alright," Marie replied. "I'll trust what you say, Rita. But I don't trust them."

And she wasn't leaving without some weapons.

Jo locks her jaw and practically hisses. "Trust is going to be tricky... I don't know if it's just me, but I tend to get irrationally paranoid when our monster-slaying buddies go missing." She glares at the vampire, moving carefully towards her violin case.

Theodaric Enterprises
[info]nextgen_vampire
2014-02-07 09:32 pm UTC (link)
The vampires opened the door s for the women, allowing them to enter without incident. They quickly drove them across town to the still fairly-newly built Theodaric Enterprises building, the local office of the Greek-based international corporation. The vampires then guided the three through the front offices, the secretaries raises eyebrows at the Nightstalkers as they entered. Anyone familiar with vampires could tell that the people working the ground floor were all humans. As they entered an elevator, the short one entered a code, careful to keep his back to the girls so they couldn't see the number, allowing the elevator to move downwards. After they went down a few floors, the doors opened, revealing a fairly lavish setting along with some sophisticated computer equipment. It's not long before they hear a voice, clearly addressing someone else.

"Then allow me to make myself clear. Unless the mayor wishes his former constituents to possibly release a vampiric plague, then he will have the bodies burned immediately. He should make doubly sure that those who do so wear the proper hazard equipment. I believe he would prefer outraged family members to a sudden influx of monsters into his city. As for those likely already infected, I am commissioning specialists who are familiar with the parasite." The Patriarch turns to note the Nightstalkers. "As for the immediate problem, I am in the process of solving that. Good night, Deputy-Mayor." The Patriarch turns off his cellphone, slipping it into his shirt pocket. "Miss Dermont. Miss Ketch." He notes Marie. "You must be the voodoo assassin who has recently arrived." he gives a bow. "I am Patriarch Yannis Theodaric, welcome to my home. Given your presence here, however, I imagine you will want me to skip formalities."

"We know something is going on. Our friends are missing and we're not clueless," Rita said bluntly.

"We've fought a lot of different things." She knows that the Patriarch probably knows a little bit about everything they've done.

"This speaks of something.... recent. That we probably missed or didn't finish off properly."

Jo is still apparently belligerent, but keeping it in check. She looks around, then addresses Rita as if no-one else is in the room. Loudly, even.

"So, do you have anything in your backpack that you think could burn this place to the ground?"

Marie picked up on the fact that this guy knew she was an assassin. That wasn't something she planned on, but now her mind was racing to figure out a plan of attack. She wondered if there was any way to get her hands on one of his personal belongings, or maybe a nail or some hair. There were a lot of things she could use those for, even if he was a vampire.

She gave Jo a look. That wasn't about to help their situation at all. There were human on the first floor, and Marie doubted they were well equipped to kill every vampire around them right now.

Not only that, but she was sure walking in on the tail end of the Patriarch's conversation wasn't a coincidence. He wanted them to hear him make those threats to the Deputy-Mayor, so they could know what he was capable of if they tried something against him.

"This is not the time to make more enemies," Marie stated clearly. That was meant for everyone in the room to hear. "What is your 'immediate problem' and how does it affect us? Aside from the possibility that our friends missing is tied to it."

For his part the Patriarch seemed to ignore Jo completely, addressing Rita and Marie.

"You are correct, on both counts. The attacks you've heard in the news, and the disappearance of your male colleagues, is connected to an attempted invasion of this city's supernatural underworld by tryks. Their queen is the leader of the same ones you fought and killed some months ago. Her name is Ophelia, and she has a reputation of conducting breeding experiments with unique males. I suspect that is why she took your friends rather than killing them outright."

"Which means that they're a threat to us and you," Rita concludes recalling what they knew of tryks. They have a good idea of the location now too.

"I'm guessing for her this is all about revenge. We killed what she would view as hers. And the guys are pretty unique so for someone like her it makes sense."

And she wants to kill that monster for taking their friends like that.
