Eat Drink And Be Merry
The trip to Moscow went rather smoothly. With all the kids in the jet, she would have expected some chaos, but after an hour or so in the air, they settled down. Some even slept, which was the best thing they could do with the timezone changes and all. Natasha read reports her nephew sent and had finished the stack of papers by the time they arrived in Moscow in the early morning.

The kids were given a car and driver along with a security detail and were given most of the day to explore Moscow. Natasha spent most of it with her nephew and his finacee. There was a brief meeting with Putin that she somehow managed to get through. Was it bad that she still wanted to shoot the man?

Dinner was a grand affair. A formal banquet with all the trappings and all of the kids were on their best behavior. There wasn't even any bickering between Misha and Anya. Natasha would take the small miracles when she could.

After dinner they retired to their rooms for an hour to change and freshen up. Natasha slipped into her second dress and made a quick call to Tony. Then she headed downstairs to the ballroom.

Oh my god what has she done. Thank god Mom didn't raise someone who could so easily be read by just anyone. She smiles and nods as if to encourage him.

Then blinks once. "Sustainable? That means like crop rotations and dividing up pastures to spread out when they're eating from what and stuff, right?"

At least she can use what she learned on the Discovery Channel. Except no it won't cut it with Corey.

"Well yeah, that's a part of it, and the most important parts for centuries, but in a post-Norman-Borlaug world -- awesome guy, saved millions of people from famine -- it's a lot more complicated than that. There's figuring out where biotechnology fits in and where it shouldn't, there's replacing destroyed forestland -- there's just generally recognizing that so many of the wasteful ways people try to scrape by or make a quick buck in the moment lead to complete devastation in a few years. Both literally and figuratively speaking, people who only have one goat need to be educated to think about living on goatsmilk for years rather than just having roast goat that very night, you know?"

"Makes sense. Kinda like teaching a man to fish?" She tries to offer something to the conversation. She just has a feeling this is in an area that she is in no way prepared for.

"Wouldn't it be difficult to work around corporations that benefit from clear cutting much more in the short term?"

"Exactly!" Corey notes to the first part.

"Yeah, well....we're working on that one. I think economic independence on the ground level should help, but the whole thing works a lot slower than we'd like of course."

"Okay now that I can follow. Give people financial freedom and chances are they'll make smarter choices for their future." This time she does smile more fully. She gets how Corey is thinking.

She tries to think of something else to talk about. He isn't on the team so she can't talk about that exactly.

Oh! They were in Russia. They can talk about that because that's what normal people do when they're chatting. She can stop feeling like a dork any time now. "What did you think about Moscow?"

"To be honest I liked the buildings more. They looked like they would be fun to climb," she admits lowly and sheepishly so that only he would hear her. She didn't want to give up her identity.

"Totally understandable," Corey noted equally quietly.

That gets a small smile from her. It's nice to get someone who understands her without the awkward position of worry about him being on the same team. Plus this was totaly casual even with the formal wear.

"We could dance. At some point," Eliza offers.

"I guess we could -- what sort?" Corey adds as he suddenly realizes there will probably be nothing bossa nova played in Moscow.

"And, um..Do you see the Winter Guard anywhere?"

"I don't know? I can dance. I just don't know what kind of dancing is expected," she admits.

She glances around. "Afraid my ... 'cousin' has them planning your doom?"

If so she'll protect him.

"Yeah...I'm just not sure if any of the kinds I know are going to fit in here. But we can watch what's happening and give it a shot."

"Well, it's a little early for him to take me out to prevent a disadvantage in the next big international arts race, but Cait said something about one of them."

Eliza turns and moves to hold his hand instead. The only thing she did differently was unhook her arm from his and let her hand go right for his.

"I see where they are." She motions to each one. Then gives a tiny flush. "They paint rather dashing figures dressed like that. I can see why they have a following."

Hands will be held, although for just an instant Corey will insepct his shoes before looking to the Winter Guard. "Yeah, they've got flair. I wish I knew which one Cait was talking about."

"Zemlya," Eliza says with the look of a fangirl. "I've seen a few clips of him fighting. He's fantastic."

She blushes and coughs. "Sorry. That's rude of me with you here and all. Um. Dark brown hair? Slightly scruffy chin?"

"I'm not sure if he does. I don't know him personally," Eliza admits with a shrug. She eyed him curiously. "You're an artist too?"

It was different. How come it fit him so well? She bets he saves puppies and kittens too not that she minds at all.

Eliza found herself unable to not smile. He was fun. "Personally I think it's cool. It's better than a lot of people. Heck I can do alot of ...things. I just can't cook. It's deadly and almost genetic. James and Misha can cook. No idea why."
