We Interrupt This Regularly Scheduled Program
“We interrupt this regularly scheduled program to bring you breaking news from Times Square. An apparent bank robbery gone wrong has resulted in the deaths of at least eleven people at the 1515 Broadway branch of Bank of America. Witnesses report that a masked man entered the bank and held the patrons at gunpoint. The details of what happened next aren’t clear, but it appears the robbery was stopped when a mutant teenage boy lost control of his powers and killed everyone in the bank. The boy fled the scene and remains at large. If you see this boy please contact your local authorities immediately and do not approach him. He is considered extremely dangerous. “

“As you can see behind me, crews are still cleaning up the site and authorities have the area cordoned off and are prohibiting anyone from approaching the bank. Traffic is at a crawl through Times Square and police are suggesting that commuters seek alternate routes.”

“Anti-mutant demonstrators and pro-mutant demonstrators are already on the scene. Police are trying to keep the demonstrations peaceful, but tension is running high.”

Cait needs more water, she'll get more water. Lucas finds a place to sit and meditate out of the way. A fog begins rolling in around the edgesm starting to cut some of the crowd off from the fight so hopefully people will be less likely to become targets, and Cait has some extra moisture to draw off of.

"People, please move away from the building. We don't want anyone getting hurt."

	More water was good and Cait would use it to her advantage. She hoped the suits of armor weren't environmentally sealed. She grabbed some of the fog and tried to get it inside the suit of the one in front of her. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Joe was, as has been noted, something along the lines of over 90% invulnerable (at least to a certain extent). One of the few areas that were not, however, were his eyes. The blast, at close range, is close enough to his face to make him stagger backward (already healing, mind), and release the man. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Its a spell he's been working on, but hasn't mastered. It may not help much against an up and resisting foe, but he hopes it might keep someone down and out of a fight. He runs up to the downed agent, pressing a hand to his forehead. "Sleep." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Lucas healed the man's injuries, slowly pouring a bit of himself into the magic, and then went into a trance, hoping the others could protect him.
He entered the sleeping man's dreams, and very carefully made sure the man remembered that while he was defeated by mutants, that they were there to protect the civilians, mutant and human alike, and that he remembered that he was also healed by a mutant.

He had to hesitate for a little bit, tempted by that black part of the man's subconscious that ruled his fears and prejudice. It would be so easy to cut a little bit of it away, remove the deepest seeds of all the irrational fear and prejudice - but it would also be wrong.

Hoping that perhaps, by at least making sure the man remembered the truth, he had planted the seeds of some kind of hope, Lucas began the trip back to his own body.
